im sorry for your loss....she wasn't just a hamster...she was your companion, your friend. She's the one that loves you unconditionally no matter what you look like, no matter how you're feeling that day. Our pets are special..they each have their own personality and their lives touch us in a big way that most people we meet won't. I lost my cat Ubi just 3 days ago...i know its really painful...i held her in my arms as she died and kept holding on to her until i cried myself to sleep. I was so consumed with the pain that i didnt realize something until some people on this site had mentioned it.
They told me, even though she is physically gone, she will always be in my heart. I will carry her wherever I go. And someday when the time comes, I will see her again.
When I read that, and let it sink in to me....it was like a huge burden was lifted off me...i cant describe it....it was like all of a sudden...i can feel her...almost comforting me...
i was so stuck on just thinking of her as a physical being...but they're not...they have souls just like anyone of us...and im sure she's looking out for you somewhere
I hope some of the things i said helps to ease your pain a little...i know its hard...there are many wonderful people on here that are willing to help...

Silky is just as precious as Jude and Sadie.

When we give our hearts to someone it doesnt matter what others think, it doesnt matter even what we try to tell ourselves, it hurts like hell when they leave us.

You will have to go through the grieving process same as me and all the others here, its a long hard journey with lots of tears, but you are strong and you will be ok, you just have to be patient with yourself.

Love Sue

sad.gif I am so sorry for your loss!!

Your Lil Girl absolutely knew (and knows) how much you love her. You are a wonderful wonderful Mom!! wub.gif

I know it's heartbreaking right now sad.gif but it will get easier. And we're here for you.

Know that your sweet Lil Girl is in a realm of bliss where there's no physical or emotional pain, and that you'll be with her again, when it's your time to pass on. Maybe eventually you'll want to save another needy pet to love in her honor---when you're ready.

There are a lot of people, in our regular lives, who will never understand the love of an animal and the heart-wrenching grief we go through at their passing. sad.gif But we do understand. Let us know how you're doing.

Sending prayers of comfort,

Kathy

I believe that every animal has a soul and a unique personality - Many years ago - as an adult), I also had a hamster and grieved when he died. He was my little friend, who slept in my t-shirt pocket. It was the same when my guinea pigs died. All lived long lives, but I missed them all.

Ignore anyone who says "it was just a hamster ... " What does that mean? It was not just a hamster - she was your hamster, your little friend and companion and you have every reason to grieve. I feel sorry for those who think that love is limited to human beings. They are narrow and missing out on some of the most beautiful experiences of life.

Best wishes,

Daisy's Mommy
