Our little 2 year old tabby cat Sidney was killed on the road yesterday. Its hard to talk on the phone to even our closest family-it hurts so much. We got him only 5 months ago from a rescue centre but he soon had a special place in our hearts. The funny thing is that one of our other cats was behaving very strangely and we think that she knew in some way that Sid had died. At the moment, I am a bit numb and can't believe that he will never walk into the room again to bring us his speciality 'gifts' of earthworms or to yell at us to feed him. It's just horrible to lose a loved pet and I am feeling guilty because we thought that he was safe but obviously he wasn't. My husband had to take Sid's body to the vets because we have nowhere to bury him-that was the hardest thing he has had to do in a very long while. Our other 3 cats are a comfort at this time and although I know that the pain will diminish over time (we lost another wee boy in a similar accident 3 years ago) it is so hard to cope with all the feelings we are going through just now. Thank you for 'listening' and we send love to all who are going through the same trauma as we are. From Sid's Mum and Dad and Callie, Rosie and Mr Mc Murphy ***x

My tabby, also named Sid died a month ago. He was with me for almost thirteen years and was truly my best friend. I know that losing a cat is tough. Sorry for your loss. I hope you all manage to find the strenght to endure this. Endure is a good word for what I have been trying to do as I still miss my little guy so much. Good luck.

sad.gif I am so sorry for your loss !

Please try not to feel guilty. Sidney was probably having a blast playing, when his time came. You gave him a good life---even though it was short. The time with you, I'm sure, was the best time of his life. smile.gif

He's in bliss now, too---his spirit is in the realm where there's no sense of physical or emotional pain, no sense of separation from you. To him, it will seem like no time at all has passed ---and there you'll be, joining him (when it's your time). wub.gif

Take all the comfort you need in this site. It's impossible to go through alone. And a lot of people (in our everyday lives) just don't begin to understand.

I am glad you have the other 3. You and they can comfort each other.

Keep us posted.

Love.,
Kathy
