Hello all,

Whilst I do love all animals and gosh darned it they seem to be drawn to me I have never had a hamster. My wife brought home not one but two russian dwarf hamsters almost two years ago. ohmy.gif

They go along so well at first but over time decided that they didn't care to live together. This of course led to two seperate cages to keep the peace. One was located in our home office (CoCoa) and the other (Snowy) was located on our dinning table. cool.gif

My wife asked me how CoCoa was doing as she was quite grayed over and looking elderly as hampsters go. CoCoa is doing just fine as she came over and climbed into my palm and seems very spry. biggrin.gif

I checked in on Snowy and she was on her side and motionless. She has passed on and none of us were aware. She had a large tumour on her abdomen which we had looked into by a vet. It would have cost us bundle and with no security of her survivale post surgery. sad.gif

We opted to let her live out her live in peace with plenty of fresh food and water and all the love she would endure. Sadly she passed away at around 2am EST this morning. ph34r.gif

She was a noble fiesty Russian Dwarf hampster whom we held in high regard. Snowy rest in peice fair mouselet.

Kind Regards,

Val and Kaileigh

Dear Val and Kaileigh and Cocoa,

I'm so sorry about the loss of Snowy. sad.gif She knows you loved her very much and you did the right things! Letting her live out her life naturally was probably exactly what she wanted. smile.gif

She's fine in the realm she's in, with no emotional or physical pain, and with no sense of separation from you. You'll be reunited when it's your time to pass on.

The heartbreak is so hard. sad.gif I am glad you found this site. And keep us posted on how you are doing. A lot of people don't understand the gut-wrenching grief we go through over losing our pets. But we know all too well what it's like.

Sending you prayers!

Kathy
