Thanks for everyone's support. This site has helped tremendously but it's also really hard to keep coming back here right now. I'm going to stay away for awhile & come back later when I'm stronger & help some others out like I've been helped.

I will ALWAYS miss & love my beautiful Daisy Mae, and I'm still grieving & will for a long time but I've made a decision.

My surviving dog is so depressed that I've consulted my vet & he suggested I get another puppy. At first I was completely against this but I'm starting to warm at the idea of it. I'm just going to keep thinking about it till I'm ready and I'm not in a hurry. I am not being dishonorable to Daisy & I'm also not trying to replace her.

I've had dogs my whole life so I've been through a lot of love & loss. I have a lot of love to give & will never stop giving it as long as I'm here.....even though in the end I will lose.....it's so worth it.

Aren't you the one that took away your dogs pillow after she passed? Perhaps if you were to put it back it may just help your remaining dog to still have some of Daisy there and would help to soothe him and he to be able to cope with Daisy not being there. wub.gif For the longest time I could not bring myself to put anything away of my D.J's when he passed.

I am so sorry for your loss of Daisy.

You are wonderful !! wub.gif You are definitely not being dishonorable to Daisy & not trying to replace her. Daisy is honored that you can help others who need you.

God bless you!!! wub.gif

i understand the thought of being dishonorable. i lost my little girl and she could never be replaced. getting another dog doesn't mean replacing daisy but rather, help another animal in honor of daisy, just as she would have wanted. i know that my JJ would want me to help more dogs in needs (there are so many). i know that in time, you will be ready to help more lucky ones. meanwhile, please don't forget to console the other poor dog who's suffering from loss. at least we could come to this website and talk to others, poor thing probably is still wondering where her friend is. i think that if you talk to her, she would eventually understand and accept it.
best wishes!!
