]My husband and I just lost one of our 3 cats, at 2 am, Nov. 8, 2005. He didn't feel well about three weeks ago and lost weight, but seemed to get better after a couple of days. I (Momma) was out of state helping my Mother when this happened. I got back last Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2005. Late on the 3nd, I noticed we had a flea problem. Tiger being the blonde he was, I could see the fleas, Thursday, night I give him a bath, and Friday, we got advantage for all three, and I defleaed the house. But it was to late, I have never in all my 48 years seen a flea problem explode like this. Tiger was a big cat, he weight in at 15 lbs. but had, lost weight three week before, and was working on getting it back. Cause he loved his, Chow....(wet food)...Friday, we got the flea stuff on him, but he was already going down. He stopped eating and drinking, and i was giving him water...The side job that Daddy had been doing, was delayed and so there were no extra funds. I have only had about 12 hours of sleep in the last, 4 days. I was taking care of my Tiger baby. When he was born he was unwanted, but when We adopted him and his brother and sister. The were very much wanted and LOVED. Tiger was a lover, he was a friendly guy, and he was so goofy. He thought he was a person, but of course I treated him that way. So, Daddy called all over the place for a vet, that would work with him, but they all wanted there money up front. He tryed to find out what to do for him, but we just kept giving him water and some but not much kitten formual. He seemed to be doing good Saturday, night and most of Sunday. But today, He was fading fast. Daddy finally got a hold of the lady that we adopted him from and she set it up to pay for the vet visit. Today, but it was to late. Cause, this morning at 2 am., while Daddy was holding his baby, and rocking him (he loved daddy to rock him). He make a couple of funny sounds, and Daddy called me in. With Daddy holding him in his arm, and me rubbing his chin, we told him that if he needed to go that we understood, and that it was ok with us if he went. That we LOVED him very much, and that we knew he tryed his hardest. So in a short 5 minutes he took his last breath in his Daddy arms.
Daddy and I are broken hearted and in great pain over the lost of our sweet, loving, goofy, smart, Tiger. We Love you and can't believe you are gone. Tiger is now our Sweet Angel.
Thank you for letting me share the last four days.
And thank you Tiger for being you. Your one of kind momma's baby
with LOVE AND HEAVY HEART

I'm sorry--that's really hard. I'm appalled that the vets wouldn't cut you
any slack. I can't imagine how this must have felt. Take care of yourselves,
and of your surviving kitties. My heart goes out to you.

I am appalled to with the vets reactions of needing the money up front before they would even look at Tiger. I am very thankful that the vets in my area will work with someone that has a pet in need of immediate care. Fleas were really bad this year and my 5 kitties needed treatment every month and I also had to deflea our apartment every month. My kitties are indoor kitties and I was at a loss on how on earth were they getting fleas being indoor kitties. It was explained that the fleas were being brought in from outside by us and our family. huh.gif
I am so sorry for your loss of Tiger. My heart goes out to you and your husband.
Please keep coming back here and let us know how you are doing.

[B][FONT=Arial][SIZE=7]Thanks so much for the kindness. He was very special to us, and really one of a kind. My wife and I are still very distraught. Neither one of us has had much of a appetite. Finally got a little sleep. But I woke up about 2 AM weeping. I,m a fifty YO man and I havent cried in years. Thought I was over all that, but since we lost Tiger Ive cried like a little girl sometimes. Ive never loved an animal like him. Its just broken my heart. The pains not quite as sharp today, but I still have moments where I get weepy eyed, even at work. All of our friends there have been very supportive. This one little cat has managed to leave a big hole in this old guys heart...one that I dont think will go away for a long long time. People who didnt know him couldnt possibly understand our pain. Except of course our fellow pet lovers out there. Thanks guys, really glad we found this place. All our best to you and yours...
