Well it has been one week since our little Bailey died. We are plugging along, doing what we need to do, but with heavy hearts. I suppose when we get her ashes back, and put her to rest by the lake she loved to run along, maybe some of this unimaginable grief will disappear. Yesterday was particularly a bad day--didn't feel like getting out of bed on a gorgeous autumn day in Pennsylvania. But I am up and about and trying today. Once again, a million thanks for all of the support from the posters on this board. And bless all of your pets who have left you. Give special hugs and kisses to the ones you still have. You never know what the day will bring.

Hey, thinking of you on the one week anniversary of losing Bailey. Hope you are taking care of yourselves and getting the support you need.

Peace and Hope,

These first few weeks seem to be particularly hard. It has been four weeks since I lost my Winnie girl. It's still really difficult to get through the day some days, but I do find that I have been feeling more and more peaceful and hopeful moments, and for longer periods. Some days are definitely better than others.

I don't think we ever stop missing them, but I hope it gives you some comfort to know that you will probably continue to feel a tiny bit better as each day passes. I'm glad to know that you have some lovely plans for her ashes. That should be nice and I'm sure will help you to feel a little further along through your grief.

Take care, we're thinking about you.

Hi,

I just wanted you to know that you are not alone.....Just think of some things that Bailey made you laugh, and, if you have to, force yourself to at least smile at the memory of some of these antics....I'll bet you can think of many..

Thanks for the kind thoughts. This site has been a life saver--all strangers, and yet so kind and caring. I shall go to sleep now thinking of some of the things that Bailey did to make us all smile. Those of you who have pets with you now, give them an extra hug from me. It is appropriate to do so today, celebrating St. Francis, the patron saint of all animals.
