Hi all

i dont know if you will remember me, i posted last year about my dog Picasso getting ran over and dying. After a long time i find myself back at this site. On September 29th, it will be a year. I still feel horrible about him dying, and have yet to recover emotionally.

i dred that day, and i was just wondering if anyone had any idea of the best way to get through it , how have u guys handled the anniversary of your pets dying?

On a up note, i have adopted two dogs since his death, gotten married, and moved to another town. Last month my husband david and i, adopted a 3 year old dachshund, she is 7 pounds, was abused, and was nearly euthanized because her former owners said she bit children, but she does not bite, they just wanted rid of her. anyhow i thought i would post a update and say hi.

anniversaries can be difficult for sure. tribble (the owner of this site) died on new year's day. so you can imagine his death made new years not worth celebrating for a couple of years. all i can say is rest assured, the memories will outlive the pain as the years pass by.

Dear Amber,

Congrats on the new members of your family!

As far as the year anniversary, I encourage you to read a post made by Steph..."My Journey through Grief." Also, in the memorial, tributes, and eulogies forum, Zoey's Dad wrote a tribute to Zoey, aka "Little Man." He just passed the one year anniversary. Both of those threads might give you a better perspective on passing the one year mark.

Hugs,
Kathleen
