MY beautiful girl is gone. She let me know today that it was time.I held her in my arms as one of the kindest vets I have ever known helped her on her way. Right now I do not have the strength or spirit to say anything more. Thank You all for your kind words and support. Be free my beauty, run, run, run, I love you Shandy.

Kerry.

Oh Kerry, I am so sorry that Shandy could not hold on. I know how just how bad it is when we have to give our babies up. I am so glad that you had a vet that was so kind. I am so sorry for your pain, hugs.

My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart.
Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

Kerry, I just had to come in and say more to you after I got your e-mail. Sometimes it is so hard to let them go even when we know it is for the best. It has been said here on LS it it the greatest gift we can give to our babies. I feel that way too, but I also know how hard it is and how much pain come afterwards.

I think most everyone has questioned to whether they have done the right thing or not. We do the very best we can but when nothing else can be done our hearts know we have to let them go. When they are sick and suffering so much and we help them over to the Rainbow Bridge.

Then the pain and questions start a war with our mind, did we do the right thing, was it to soon, was there something more we could have done. Will they not love us anymore. What more could we have done for them and the questions go on and on.

But Kerry, when they get so bad they can not stand up and they are not enjoying life any longer it is the right thing to do. Since they cannot say what they would want done we have to be the ones to make the choice what needs to be done.

They will keep on loving us throughout eternity just as they have loved us here on earth. I also was so sick to the stomach on the day I had to have Chili Bean put to sleep. I felt the same way when Snookie died on her own. It will take awhile before the pain begins to lessen but it will and each step will get better.
