Call it a group hug thread, or whatever you will.

I believe it takes good gestures to neutralize bad ones, so I am offering you this thread as a way to let you know how much you mean to us here at LS!!!!

You are all wonderful people, and I sincerely hope you continue to stay with us, your friends here at LS.

Thanks Steph, I agree. Sure it's a free country and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I think that it's hard to find an opinion that doesn't have at least some validity to it, however to think that any positive benefit would come out of calling someone's actions "nutcase" in a forum intended for support and friendship, is ludicrous. And then to respond by stating that she was not treated well when first coming to LS hardly helps matters. All I know is that Ann and Cheri are two of the most helpful people here, and I hope they will not leave simply because two people misunderstood the proper way to use this forum. We are not called to be one another's therapists here or to "tell it like it is." We are simply called to lend a listening and sympathetic ear.

Alice Mae Bennett ("Allie") was born around May of 2003. She came home to us in July. On March 10, 2005, she became ill with a condition called mesenteric torsion or volvulus. It is a twisting of the small intestine which is nearly impossible to diagnose. Once symptoms begin it is usually too late to save the intestine by surgical means. There are no known ways to prevent it and its causes are also unknown. It is extremely rare, especially in medium-size females like Allie. It is more common in males of large breeds, like German Shepherds.

Allie was a sweet, happy and loving soul. I will miss her every day. Thanks for giving us these last two years, little girl. We'll always treasure them.

Oh my God....what happened here!??!!!!
I haven't been on since Friday I think? (Maybe took a peek on Sat) I had a huge festival with my community band this weekend and missed what happened. Someone came on here and started insulting our family?? I'm APPALLED! I don't even know what to say. Wow. I'll read what I can now to figure it all out but all I can say is that Steph and Jennie are right...the actions of one person do NOT negate all the support we give each other.
Ann, after you report those comments, DELETE those insulting messages from your computer. They mean nothing so get rid of them, okay?
*hugs*
Audrey

**EDIT: I just found and read the post that started it all. I didn't know any of what happened when I typed this earlier. I've posted other places my thoughts on this.**

Dear Steph, Thank you so much for this post. Clair and I gladly want to partake in the group hug and we want to give a big hug back to our LS family too.

Yes, I will get rid of the copies of the posts and try to wipe them from my mind. I am glad I was able to stay calm and was able to handle myself without letting the words fly. But that is the kind I am or at least have strived to be all my life. From a child on I knew how much words could wound the soul.

I posted that I was going to stay in my post Tears Soaked My Pillow, crying all night. I am so happy that I have been a help to many people here. My sweet girls would want me to be brave and stay to offer love and compassion. I will do just that and I want you to know you have all been a part of my healing and I am blessed.
Love, Ann & Clair

Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

Okay I've had a few minutes to get caught up on what's been going on. I haven't seen the original offending post but I've seen enough snippets and replies and also read what LS had to say about it. I get the gist of it.
I think what people have been suggesting is the best course of action...let's move on. I KNOW it must hurt Ann, but all the love we share cannot be broken or even dented by one person's opinion.
