I just had to show you all a picture I took of Snookie in 2004 for you to see the look in her eyes.

I took a picture of Schnitzel after I had her haircut today. She almost has that same look in her eye that Snookie did and she stood almost the same way too.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I took the picture. It reminded me so much of my darling Snookie's eyes.

Schnitzel is only 8 months old but is starting to look more like Snookie all the time. Sometimes it makes me sad because it reminds me of how much I miss Snookie everyday.

Here is the picture of my darling girl Snookie.

My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart.
Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

This is the picture I took of Schnitzel after her haircut. I think they cut her feet a little too close but she should feel a lot cooler. I just couldn't get over how much Snookie and Schnitzel look so much a like. I know Snookie's head is shaped a little different and her nose is wider but since Schnitzel is only 8 months old they might change some too.

So can anyone see that Schnitzel looks so much like Snookie or am I just weird and only think that does?

I just had to come back in and put one of them on when they were both together. I thought that Snookie did not like Schnitzel very well but I found many pictures when they were close by each other.

I have around 9 different pictures when they both lay in bed together. I have some of them in the chair together and some laying in the floor and pictures like that.

Maybe I thought Snookie was so hurt that my sister almost forced Schnitzel on me that I could not see they were doing ok together. I didn't want another dog as long as I had my Snookie, but now I am so glad I have Schnitzel. I would not have got another one for a long time other wise.

My sister wanted me to tell Snookie it was ok to go because Schnitzel could take care of me. But I never spoke those words to my precious Snookie. I wanted her to know I needed her as much as ever.

There has been a lot of talk as to whether dogs and cats have souls and will go to Heaven. Well I am here to say as I did in one other post, I think there is a perfect invisible thread that is tied to our soul. It is tied to us and can never be broken, my girls will be there with me. Snookie and Chili Bean were both tied to my soul with that thread so yes my darlings will be there with me.

Oh Ann, those pictures are just precious!
I agree, Schnitzel does look alot like Snookie in that picture! She is just as beautiful wub.gif

I am SO happy to see you allowing yourself to bond with her now. I'm sure Snookie and Chili Bean are watching, wagging their little tails and doing happy dances biggrin.gif They want you to be happy again!!!!! That's all part of loving someone.

My little Brandy does SO VERY MANY things the same way Rachael did, and sometimes I can see Rachael's eyes when I look at her. However, since she is SO little, her body doesn't resemble Rachael....at least not yet. The vet assures me he thinks she will fill out more.

I find that the similar traits that Brandy shows are a comfort to me now. I hope you too will take comfort in Schnitzel. She is keeping Snookie's memory alive and breathing for you.

Love,
Cheri

How sweet they are!! Yes they do look totally alike ~ thank you for posting these photos it warms my heart ~ sometimes the photos of our animal spirit/guides/friends/family are more healing for me ~ the photos say it "all" and validate forever so many things ~ I am needing warmth in the heart today ~ Missing my Ambie so much ~ Sincerely, Kathryn

I also adopted an 8 yr old Burmese named Samantha who led me back into my own room ~ still a stranger to me ~ she sweetly gives peace to Amber's final days spent there and lights my way to see in the darkness of the spaces that my precious CC has left behind.

Dear Ann,

Schnitzel is just adorable! What an absolute cutie pie. And yes, I agree, I definitely see Snookie in Schnitzel's eyes. That must make you feel sad and happy at the same time. I have always loved schnauzers because my mom had them growing up. I think they have such cute personalities. Her schnauzers names were Chrissy, Pooh, and Daisy. They are all at the Rainbow Bridge now, playing with Snookie.

Love,
Jenny

Alice Mae Bennett ("Allie") was born around May of 2003. She came home to us in July. On March 10, 2005, she became ill with a condition called mesenteric torsion or volvulus. It is a twisting of the small intestine which is nearly impossible to diagnose. Once symptoms begin it is usually too late to save the intestine by surgical means. There are no known ways to prevent it and its causes are also unknown. It is extremely rare, especially in medium-size females like Allie. It is more common in males of large breeds, like German Shepherds.

Allie was a sweet, happy and loving soul. I will miss her every day. Thanks for giving us these last two years, little girl. We'll always treasure them.

Oh yes, Ann. I think Schnitzel looks like a younger version of Snookie! She's so cute! smile.gif

Dear Ann,

They look so much alike! The one big difference that I can tell is that Snookie has a sense and look of wisdom, but I'm sure that comes with age...so I'm sure Schnitzel will have that in time.

Love,
Kathleen

I am glad I was not the only one to see that Schnitzel looks so much like Snookie. My husband says he see it more and more now that Schnitzel is not as dark as she was. Schnitzel is taking on some of the true schnauzer traits too.

I caught my husband Clair looking at Schnitzel the other day and he started softly crying. I reached out to him and held his hand. He told me that he could not get Snookie off his mind and he misses her so much. He said looking at Schnitzel is almost like looking at Snookie.

Now that I don't cry everytime when I hold and play with Schnitzel she is so much more loving than she was. She always followed me around from room to room as it was but now she wants to be in my lap all the time.

Gypsy Rose is once more the loving girl she used to be too. She had a hard time when they both died. The sadness has left her eyes, she was almost daily in my home with Snookie and Chili Bean before my daughter gave her to us and she missed them so much.

They give me eyes to go in the car everytime I leave the house. I once turned blind eyes on them wanting to go right after Snookie and Chili Bean left this world. I have changed so much since the dream I had of Snookie and in doing so the girls have changed too.

Schnitzel and Gypsy Rose were full of love the whole time. It was me who lacked responding and reaching out to them when my heart was so broken. I am so glad Snookie showed me the way and I am so full of love again.
Love, Ann
