I Never Knew

I never knew how loud silence could be,
It's something I've learned since you left me.
No click of your nails on the kitchen floor,
No sound of your paws thumping on the side door.

No bark of warning as strangers pass by,
No settling into bed to the sound of your sigh.
And during the night I wake no more
To the comforting sound of your gentle snore.

Instead I wake to the sound of my tears,
As I dream of the sounds from our happy years.
Not only do I miss the touch of you ...
I miss the sounds that left with you, too.

I never knew how loud silence could be,
Just one more lesson you taught to me.
So many things I learned from you,
Like the sound of silence ... I've learned that, too.

Dear Pamela, I found that poem on the internet one day and I think it is so beautiful. That is a beautiful poem to go with your very handsome Moose. The poem just makes me cry from missing my girls so much. I think the words to the poem is how I will always feel.
Love, Ann

My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart.
Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

Dear Pamela,

Those words are so true...........They touched my heart even though the furpal I'm thinking of didn't bark. happy.gif I have had dogs in the past and have one now so that's probably why I can totally relate to that poem.

Have you thought any more about getting another dog? You have so much love to give. I think it would make Moose very happy.

Pamela, that's just beautiful! I haven't seen that poem before. I have already copied it to add to my tribute wall at work for Rachael. It certainly brought tears to my eyes, though, reading it for the first time.

I can just feel the intense love that you and Moose shared...and STILL share! wub.gif
I just know Moose is watching down over you and missing you too.

I have to thank my dear friend Ann..she sent that poem to me in a time of intense pain....the poem stung with truth. Now, I can read it and honor it. Pamela
