Hello,
One of my dogs is 12 years old and is dying of cancer. Its really a shame that he's suffering like this and will sadly have to be put to sleep. I realize how old he is, but it still is going to be tough when he goes to that big dog house in the sky. I basically grew up with him and I honestly miss him alot because I dont live at home anymore (I am away at college). The last time I saw him, he was just in terrible shape. Even though I have one other 12 yr old dog (his brother) it wont be the same without my ailing dog. |

Hello, I am so sorry your little boy has cancer and has to be put to sleep. I know how it breaks your heart and if he is suffering the only thing you can do is to help him take his pain away. My girls were both 10 and still it wasn't long enough with them. I am just so sorry you have to lose him.
Ann -------------------- My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart. Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings. Snookie Lynn Howard 2-04-94 - 12-26-04 Senorita Chili Bean Bubbles Howard 11-05-94 - 11-11-04 |

I'm so sorry your furbaby has cancer. My Shiloh was only 5 when she died from lymphoma.
I understand how hard it is to lose a friend to cancer. You're in my thoughts. Kathleen -------------------- Shiloh and Hobbie, you're both gone from my arms, but forever in my heart.

I would like to annouce my fellow dog has passed, and you know I thought I'd take it really hard, but somehow I feel peace. I feel happy that he is crossing that rainbow bridge and being his normal self. He is happy, I am happy. However, I will miss him. I want to thank you all for your kind words.

I am so sorry. I can understand your sense of relief though. It's so hard to see our once lively healthy babies suffering and miserable. I just had to have my dog put down and although I was so horribly sad, there was a sense of relief knowing that she would once again be happy and healthy. I didn't feel the extent of the grief until later when I realized she wouldn't be coming home.
I've always told people that I don't want to live past that point in time when someone has to wipe my bottom for me. The equivalence of that in the dog world is when people are cleaning up their messes in the house. When my sweet dog, who hated to make a mess, began messing in the house, I knew it was time for her to go to the Rainbow Bridge. I read something a few years ago when searching for information on the internet for a friend who was struggling with whether to have her dog put down. It said that you decide to put your pet down, when you've made the decision to take his/her pain onto yourself. I'm glad to hear you're doing well. Take care, Carol |

I am so sorry that the little guy passed on. I am glad you are able to deal with his passing since he is no longer in pain. They say each person grieves differently and if you ever feel depressed please come back and talk to us.
