Hi my name is Linda

I first visited this place back in January when my beloved dog Bob died. I found great comfort here your warmth from my grief was so touching.

We visited a local animal shelter to give Bobs food, myself husband and two children. We were all grieving for Bob. Of course the children wanted to look at the animals in the shelter and yes you guessed correctly we came home with a dog.

She is a Collie Cross or a mutt we would say here in Scotland. Lots of different breeds, she is small where Bob was large, She has fluff, where Bob had hair. She is adorable, Bob was my rock. She had been abandoned in someones home, they had packed up all their possessions and left without this loving, living animal, Bob would have cried but most importantly I know he would have wanted us all to take this creature home and love her as we all loved him.

They think she is 6 years old half her life gone we do not know if happy or sad, she is terrified if we leave her alone, howls, barks and shakes. We hope in time she will relise we will never abandon her as we never abondoned Bob.

She has not replaced Bob in any way I still hurt for him so very much, but she has taken some of the saddness from our home, made us enjoy going for walks as a family once more, not the same without a dog and most important I know Bob approves.

Love to you all Linda and Milly

Dear Linda,

I'm very happy for you and your family that you have a new furry friend, Milly. I'm sure, also that Bob "approves" and is happy that you have a dog once again to join you on your walks. wub.gif

Hello Linda,

Thank you for sharing your story, your love for Bob and your new friend brought a smile to this tear-streaked face.

Give your little girl an extra scratch behind the ears for me.

Linda- what a nice story. I lost my dog Lucy 3 weeks ago and I hope to adopt on at some point. It makes me happy to know that there are people like you out there to take home a dog who is abandoned. I cannot understand someone who would leave a dog like that. You gave her a second lease on life...that is a wonderful tribute to your Bob...

Dear Linda,

I think it is wonderful you found Milly, and she found you. I feel that dogs are smarter then we think they are and sometimes all it takes is for you to explane to Milly that when you leave you will be coming back and when.

I just adopted a two year old Spanish Water Dog named Esemerelda and every time I would go to work she would pee on the floor. So yesturday I decided to tell her that I would be home at lunch to let her out and not to pee on the floor. I came home at lunch and after work and she waited. I think she understood me.

Anyway, Milly must be having alot of pain full feelings when you go and maybe talking to her would help her to trust that you will return.

I also think that Bob would approve ... maybe in some way he helped to.

I think my Stymy would approve of Esmerelda because he always loved blond women and she is blond ... she is also a sweetheart.

Godd luck with your new family member.

Hi Linda,
I am so happy you got another baby and maybe with your love over time she will not be so afraid of things. I too think Bob would be pleased that you have someone to give your love to and to take care of. Perhaps it was best to get one that looks so different. Sometimes it cuts my heart to see my puppy Schnitzel when she looks so much like my little Snookie. I am glad you came back to let us know how things are.

My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart.
Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.
