Lucy has gotten much worse. We have a vet coming at around 6:30 to perform the euthanasia. I am sick to my stomach and scared beyond words. I feel like I am going to pass out. Will she be okay? I have to know that she will be okay...

Oh Caroline, I'm so sorry.

My "childhood" dog was euthanized when I was 22. I held him as the vet injected him. It was very peaceful, and very fast. He had bone cancer, and was in agony.

I'm sending up some prayers to Luba (my dog that died last summer of a heart condtion), and Frodo (the one who was euthanized). I will ask them to meet your girl when she passes over.

May she be at peace.

Oh Caroline,
Oh I am so very sorry and I will pray that all goes well. My heart is crying with yours. My girls and all our babies will be with Lucy. Go hug your daring girl and tell her not to be afraid she will soon be out of pain. Tell her to go find our babies and you will see her again.
Love, Ann

Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

Dear Caroline:

You and your sweet Lucy are in my HEART!!!!! wub.gif

The one thing that I can say is, that when NOTHING made sense after Ernie was put to sleep Feb.7,2004.... a
wonderful, wise member of LS said to me................

"Denise, you took away Ernestine's pain, so that SHE COULD BE WITHOUT PAIN".....

At a time when I was sooooooooooooooooo confused, and in grief............that's the only thing that made
sense to me.............

God Bless You and Yours...........

Hug Lucy and Love Her...............(Like you have, all of her life...........)

You are in our prayers...........

Love, Denise & Ben xo

Always know that this is the most un-selfish beautiful gift, that you can give your beautiful, precious Lucy!! wub.gif wub.gif

Dear Caroline,

There are no words that can express how sad I feel for you right now.

I'm so sorry...I'm just sobbing as I write this.
We're all here for you, Caroline.

Oh Caroline, I'm so so sorry,
There's lots of advice ... suggestions to your last post which might help. Have you been able to read them? , probably not yet, with all that's going on today?

6.30 sounds like very soon, I'm trying to work out the time difference.

The most important thing to know, is that YES, your Lucy will be all right. Soon she will be free of her pain and her distress. This will be your gift to her to free her from her suffering.

Try to stay as calm as you can for yourself and for your Lucy.
If the vet can give a tranquiliser to Lucy first it will make it easier for her and easier for you too.

Hold her and love her and stroke her while the vet is doing what he must, let her leave this world with the loving arms of her mommy around her.

I am so worried about you, I have to go off board now as it is past midnight here. I hope there will be others coming on who will be able to support you this evening.

I'm going to say a prayer for Lucy now, and ask Bonnie to be waiting and watching for her arrival at Rainbow Bridge. Bonnie had to be put to sleep at age 7 with the same condition as Lucy, so I'm sure they will make good pals and Bonnie will know what Lucy has been through and be able to tell her how wonderful it is to be well and free again now.

Bless you Caroline, may an angel watch over you and your beloved Lucy tonight

with love
jilly

Caroline-
I am praying for you and Lucy.
On Dec. 28th I euthanized my beloved and faithful friend of 10 years. He also had terminal illness.
It was the first time I've ever had to do this.
I was as frightened as you. Afraid to let him go. Afraid it wouldn't be all right.
But it was. And it will be for Lucy too.
I'm sure your vet is kind, caring and compassionate.
He or she will see that all goes smoothly and Lucy will be taken care of with the greatest of dignity.
Lucy's family will be there for her and one other.
The LS family will be here for you when you need us.
God bless you and your beloved Lucy.
Love,
Fran

Caroline I did not want to just say I would be praying like I so often do instead I decided to put a prayer right here on the board for you and I will continue to pray for you.
Love, Ann

Dear Father God,
Keep your hand upon Caroline and her family and give them strength in this their time of need and comfort. You know the pain that Caroline feels You see all the love and You bottle all the tears Caroline has shed for her precious girl as she is wating to give Lucy back to You. Father I ask that you give Lucy a peaceful passing and oh dear God take Lucy in Your arms and carry her Home. Give strength to Caroline and her family to hold up under the fear, pain, tears, and anguish of what must be done. Calm their fears and let them all feel Your arms holding them tight as You gently brush away their tears. Father I ask these things in Jesus name. Amen
