My wife and I lost our dog buddy Nov. 11, 2003. sad.gif I am extremely sad because he bit my wife hard while she was walking him. His behaviour was getting worse over time. He was not a "biter". I had a friend who is a vet look at him and was told that he had sore joints, a large lump on his jaw (most likely cancer) and his kidney were painful to touch. I asked her to put him down. She agreed to do it for us, and asked us what we wanted to do with his body. I chose the cheapest option.

Glenn,
Buddy loved you both very much. He articulated his pain the only way he knew how. And you helped him with that pain the only way there is sometimes. I know Buddy feels as badly about biting your wife as you do about putting him down. Try to forgive him and yourself. He has no pain now, and he wants you to be at peace as well.
Love,
Jennifer

Yeah i know that, but it's extremely hard to see that. I hope he's waiting there for me when it's my time.

Glenn-Buddy is waiting for you. I am a firm beleiver in the "Rainbow Bridge". I know my babies are waiting patiently for the day when I will join them. I know they are healthy now and are proud that I was strong enough and loved them enough to help them get to the bridge. When you get time, please tell us more about your Buddy. How old was he, what color?? Hugs to you and your wife.

I am sorry for your loss - try to remember that Buddy lashed out in the only way that he could - we've all done the same when in pain.

I also chose the cheapest option for my two guys - I didn't need their ashes, their souls weren't there and it would have been a daily painful reminder of my loss. Some people find comfort in it - I am not one of those people.

Buddy, like my Edgar, Jesse and Tom, will live on in your heart and soul. And one day he'll suddenly be standing before you, and nothing will keep you apart.
