Thank you moon_beam
I sent a follow up email apologizing for being harsh, but was just so very angry at their gall. I doubt it will do any good, as her orginal email while "nice" was dripping with sarchasm (sigh) I just hope it does not cost me my home. Today is sunny and cool here. Theresa and tang are doing OK too. Hope you and Tang wer well. TTFN TTT -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Hi, Tracy, sunny greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this Sunday afternoon. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
By now you have your laundry done and are hopefully enjoying a pleasant day with your precious furkids. It's only in the 50's here, but the sun is shining pretty - - unexpectedly, as yesterday's forecast indicated we would have rain today. I'm not sorry for the change. It's nice having sunshine two days in a row. Noah is doing fine. He is snuggled next to me as I'm writing to you. Perhaps later on he will enjoy a game of soccer with his big puff ball. I tried engaging him in a round earlier but he was not interested at that time. I got a welcome surprise yesterday - - and I am one who truly does not like surprises because they usually turn out to be not in my favor. I paid a couple of bills online yesterday afternoon and I discovered that the payment for my unused paid time off was direct deposited into my checking account - - YEA!!! I do not have to keep a vigil over my mailbox in anticpation of receiving a paper check. YEA!!!! So now I can transfer these funds over to my savings account with the credit union at my leisure instead of having to make a special trip to deposit a check. YEA!!!! I also discovered on my latest bill for my snaggle tooth episode that I will not be charged any interest on the outstanding balance until March 2013 - - and I will have that bill paid off long before then - - hopefully by September or October at the latest. So this is a double YIPPEE!!! The Good Lord is great in His mercy and kindness. I do hope today is being kind to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, my friend. I hope and pray with all my heart that your job search will meet with success very soon. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. So glad you got good news about your last check and your bills. Those kind of surprises are always the best. Not much going on here. Just still worrying about the probable fallout with neighbors/apartment manager and the email. It's sunny and 55 so I let the kids have balcony time while it was early enough for them not to be bothered by loud neighbors. Tang came right in, but Theresa only just came in on her own. I hope you and Noah are doing well; perhaps you have that ball game later. TTFN TTT -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Hi, Tracy, cloudy, dreary Monday afternoon greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
Noah is so thoroughly disgusted with the weather that he is napping the day away. He is curled up on his lamb's wool cushion with his paws over his eyes as I'm writing to you. Today has been a lazy one for me as well - - still recuperating from the cardio workout on Friday mowing the front yard. I'm hoping to be able to stretch out next to my little boy in a little bit and enjoy some snuggle time with him. Just thought I'd stop by to say hello and let you know that I hope today is treating you and your precious fur tribe kindly, my friend. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. Thank you moon_beam. Hope this finds you and Noah well. These daily posts were a lot better when I had a job to go to to fill the day, only to come home to my precious Theresa and Tang. Not that I have not appreciated the extra time, but it seemed all that much better looking forward to coming home to them. The vet called the other day and left a message that next Saturday it's time for Tang's check up. I'll have to ignore that for now as I can't even afford to get him there. My hair desperately needs cut and can't afford that either. I can't afford many basics of life these days. Today's meal consisted of a little cole slaw and left over fortune cookies from old chinese take out because that's all there is. Day after day is the same. Wondering just how much time Tang really has. Scouring the net and other recourses trying to find a job. Each new day I try to be positive and pray for a life preserver only to be cruelly ignored. Next week it will be 2 months; looks like I broke my record from 2006

Hi, Tracy, stormy greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
I am so sorry that it is taking longer for you to find another job than what you had hoped, and what I had hoped for you. I do understand how discouraged you are feeling, and wish there were something I could do for you. When things appear to be the bleakest it is important to hold onto hope and keep doing what youre doing to find another job. I know this isn't fair, Tracy. I got an e-mail from a friend of mine and learned that her son in law has been out of work since January and has not been able to find another engineering position despite all of his efforts thus far. I have met her son in law and he is very knowledgeable and capable in his work. He and his wife have two small children, and his wife is not working. Just please continue to have faith, Tracy, and keep being the squeaky wheel with your employment placement reps. Persistence will pay off. Today started off with a boisterous thunderstorm around 5:30 or so that took out the power for about 3 hours. I am soooo glad I did not have to leave Noah to go to a job somewhere and leave him here to deal with the power outage alone. The security system beeps a rather uncomfortable signal alerting me to the power failure and won't stop until I reset the system. It took a couple of tries before the power came back on to stay, and each try I had to reset the security system to stop the beeps. I am so glad Noah was not here alone to have to deal with the obnxious noise. We are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 tonight. A little while ago we had thunder overhead. My Noah had been upstairs for some private time, but when he heard the thunder he came back downstairs and cuddled next to me. He is my little champion. I am sooo blessed to have him. We also were visited by the deer today. Three deer came inside the fence and settled themselves in very comforably. Each of them found their shady place in the wooded area and laid down to rest awhile. They came around 10:30 or so and didn't leave until after 12:30 sometime. That was soooo special. Noah and I watched the deer and played a couple of games of soccer with his big puff ball. It is so fun being home with my little boy. Tracy, I hope today is treating you and your precious furkids kindly, and that you, your precious Theresa and little Tang will have a very peaceful evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. Thanks for sharing about the deer - that was a bright spot in an other wise dark abyss that are my days lately. I'm glad you got to play some ball with Noah too. I'm sorry to hear about your power outage. We had some pretty bad storms here last night and my power just flickered enough to power off the VCR that I have the cable box wired through. I hope you don't have any more bad storms or outages. Sorry to hear about your friend's son in law; I know it's supposed to make me feel better but it doesn't - if an engineer can't find work, what hope is there for someone like me? I got a written follow up in the mail about Tang's check up this Saturday. I guess I will have to call them and let them know my situation (sigh) Even if I could afford cab fare it wouldn't matter because that's Derby Day. Today I got a call on a job I had posted on minutes earlier. But my hope was dashed when she said it's 50 miles away. I could have sworn I set the site filter to Louisville, but I guess not. What a cruel joke. I'm not really sure how much longer I can keep this up. But I stopped to think that since I'm not witholding tax from my EU (something I know I will regret) I'm making about 20.00/week more than when I was at Sykes, and I managed that for 4 months; I'll never know how. As it is, I'm going to have to pay my rent late (again) because I would rather do that w/ the late fee than risk it bouncing before my next UE check; thereby not being able to write checks at all any more; plus the fee the bank would charge even if it did go through which I doubt. A small amount for groceries was one thing, but rent? I don't think so Tang showed me how clever he is a bit ago during can food feeding. I give him his in the kitchen and Theresa's on an old box with a blanket she likes to lay on; keeps her food safe that way. Anyway, apparently tired of sliding his bowl all over the kitchen tile, he movved it into the hall where on the carpet in would not slide so much. Clever boy. The only other thing of note today was when I was in Feeder's Supply getting more Iams dry food, I saw a cat for adoption that looked just like Theresa. He was a male and a bit bigger, but all white but for the black spot on his head in the exact same pattern as her. What are the odds. Hope you and Noah are well. Hi, Tracy, sunny afternoon greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
Applying for jobs online can be tricky with all the filters to set. I have done that, too, and it is very frustrating when you get a response that is out of your commuting reach. Keep doing what you're doing, Tracy, and don't give up hope. I'm sorry that you're going to have to pay rent late, but I agree with you that paying it late is better than taking the risk with the bank. I know what it's like to play the "robbing Peter to pay Paul" game. All you can do is your best, Tracy, and I know you're doing this for your precious Theresa and little Tang. I'm so chuckling about Tang moving his feeding bowl. He is indeed a very clever little fellow. Thank you so much for sharing your precious furkids with us. I don't blame you for not wanting to take Tang for a cab ride on Derby Day, even if you did have the money to do it. I know the vet office will understand why you can't bring Tang in for his check up right now. And perhaps they will offer you some assistance - - for instance if they have a Good Samaritan Fund. Today is warm in the 80's and sunny. I mowed the back yard this morning - - took about an hour to do it. I think I need to take my work horse Snapper mower back for further maintenance as when I got it started the motor would not continue to run. After going through this scenario about a half dozen times I was using all my energy to try to get this mower to run. So I put it back in the garage and got the "newer" mower out. Even that had some "technical difficulties" I needed to figure out but finally got everything sorted and it worked very nicely. Now Noah and I can actually see the back yard clearly. Speaking of my precious little boy, he is keeping me company taking a nap on his lamb's wool cushion as I'm writing to you. He kept me company in the bathroom as I took my shower, too. He is the light of my life. I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening - - hopefully without any loud entertainment from your neighbors. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. Glad you were able to get the balance of your yard work finished. It's been like summer here today (89) and expected to be around 90 for weekend. What ever happened to spring? I'm starting to think I should write a generic script for portions of my posts as each day it's the same. Get up, check email for job search results, follow up with agencies and search said web sites; with no luck ever of course. Worry about Tang, etc. Robbing Peter to pay paul is right. I get extensions from Insight, and thankful my LG&E is staying below 75.00 so I can pay the past due a month late (sigh) same old same old. Will this ever get better? I'm starting to doubt it. Tang is the one who has problems yet his spirits remain much higher than mine. I don't know how he does it. Same for Theresa, though thankfully her health is much better overall. But, she's getting older so I guess it evens out. Hope this finds you and Noah doing well. TTFN TTT -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Hi, Tracy, bright sunny greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
I know what you mean about the days being "generic". That's how I felt when I was enslaved at the pit - - brain dead. Now I am beginning to feel alive again. I'm hoping and praying the same for you, Tracy, that you will soon have gainful employment. Your little Tang is focused on what is important: the here and now. He knows how to enjoy the present -- whatever it may be. He is happy to have a home with someone who loves him and wants him. Beyond that everything else is "icing on the cake" as the saying goes. I know you are very concerned about your financial stability, and this is very normal, Tracy. I just hope that you are also being able to enjoy this cherished time you have with your precious Theresa and little Tang. Noah and I are enjoying having the big door open today enjoying the fresh air and songs and sounds of the woodland critters. I am still recuperating from yesterday's yard work, so I focused on updating my financial ledger with payments made. Yesterday I saw an article in the local newspaper that the county passed the budget with the increase in tax rate. So I figured out how much my real estate taxes will be so that I can begin planning that in my budget. I'm not happy about the increase in taxes because of the increase in tax rate, but I can only handle one year at a time, and hope that the tax rate will be reduced at some point in the future. I hope today is being kind to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. I hope you feel better soon from the exertion of the yard work. I'm sorry to hear about your tax hike and hope it does not too negatively impact your finances. You are probably right about Tang. But as his care giver it's hard not to worry and feel bad for him. But all I can do right now is enjoy what he Theresa and I have and hope for the best. The only job I was able to post on today was through that entity that I suspect is a come on for getting people enrolled in their school (sigh) For all I know the employer never even got the application. SPAM is all over the place these days. First it was email, then instant messages and text. Now on job search sites? Have they no shame? I got back to back "sales" phone calls within minutes of my phone "interview" which was nothing more than "Hey you should go back to school" Since I made the decision to pay the rent late when my next check comes in, thereby not literally having to do without for days, I made a decision. I got on the bus and got this rat's nest I call hair cut. I figured I can't go to a job interview (assuming I ever get another one) looking that way, and that if I felt better about my appearence, it might go a long way to having a better positive mental attitude. We'll see. Pegasus parade for the derby today downtown. I'm glad I'm not working in the area this year as it took 2 1/2 hours to get home from work from all the traffic and detours. Hoping you and Noah are doing well. TTFN TTT -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Hi, Tracy, warm and sunny afternoon greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
I'm glad you were able to get your hair cut yesterday, and I hope it helped to boost your morale. And I hope that getting your hair cut will send out "signals" to potential employers that you are ready to begin another job. Unfortunately "spam" is everywhere nowadays. Everything it seems has an "ulterior motive" behind the scenes - - such as taking courses from a particular college, etc. When I took college courses in my younger years it never ceased to amaze me that when I was considering transferring to another college to continue credits the "new" college demanded that I take THEIR courses that I had already taken to make up the "lost or insufficient credits." Give me a break. Which is one of the many reasons why I never got a college degree - - just didn't have the funds to support all those college professors who needed "justification" for their positions. Today has been a busy one. I took my work horse mower back to the shop this morning and apparently the moisture from the grass clippings got sucked up into the carburetor and was causing a problem with the gasoline. So they cleaned out the carburetor, got the mower running again and sent me on my way - - no extra charge. While I was in town I stopped in at Roses - - which is a much smaller version of Wal Mart - - and got a Baker's Rack for my toaster oven and pantry supplies. I have been using a make shift rack for quite awhile. But I had some funds in the checking account and Roses had a rack that fit into my budget, so now I have a "do it yourself" project for the weekend. I am looking forward to getting it put together and in use. I am so very glad I no longer have to make the trek into town on a daily basis. I was only gone for about 2 hours, but my Noah was ever so glad to see me come through the door. He has been staying close to me all afternoon, and I am enjoying his sweet presence. Tomorrow is the Derby and it will be interesting to watch all the horses and listen to all their stories. I don't listen to the pre-Derby "stuff" until Derby Day. I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. It's been mostly cloudy and warm/hot today. Just a while ago a thunder storm passed through, but not much rain. I'm glad you were able to get your mower fixed and a nice oven rack for your toaster oven. I know all about making do with what ever I can get my hands on. Today is Oaks, the race before the Derby and usually attracts the super wealthy and celebrities that then party themselves sick at all the gala parties tonight. It almost makes me sick how much I could do with just what they pay for a "plate" at those parties. It has been quiet though, even the leasing office was closed. I knew they would be tomorrow, but was surprised by today. Tang was not too pleased with me pulling the gunk from out of his fur outside his ear. But I think he's better now that he realizes that's what he was scratching at. I let the vet know about having to reschedule for Tang, but the girl was none to interested in hearing about my problems (yadda yadda, what ever get off my phone, etc) My Banfield has really gone down hill since the personnell change ![]() TTFN. -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Hi, Tracy, Derby Day greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
I know how you feel about the changes at Banfield, and am sorry that the staff are not supportive of your and your precious furkids' needs. This is one of the reasons why I changed vets when the vet we used to have sold her practice to a youngster who brought in his own staff and just didn't have a compassionate bone in any of their bodies. The crowning blow was the vet's impudence about offering tests and treatment for my number one kitty son Eli when he was very ill. I got him to a different vet who was compassionately willing to take his case, and who became the primary care provider for all of my furkids. Today has been very cloudy and humid here. I put the rack together and it looks very nice - - sooo much better than the make shift set up I have been using. Yesterday's purchase was money well spent, and didn't break the bank. And of course one thing leads to another and another and another - - so I'm a bit on the weary side at the moment. But that's okay - - I'm watching the Derby program. It will be interesting to see what happens when all is said and done later on during the race. Noah has been very busy keeping up with all the "doings" of the projects today, and is now curled up on his lamb's wool cushion with his paws over his eyes taking a much needed nap. I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. It always feels nice when we finish a project, no matter how big or small, huh? As for Banfield, I think one of the things I will do IF I get a good paying job again is take my babies to the Banfield on the other side of town. That's where Dr. Mills went, so I know they will get better treatment and I can still use my wellness plans. I just hope it's not too late for Tang ![]() Today has been quiet as yesterday. I do not get caught up in any of the Derby activities, but am grateful for the peace and quiet. The folks downstairs have not had any rounds of "rurally engineered/Darwin Awards" board games lately and that's been nice too. I'm hoping with the typical American's short attention span, they got bored with it, but probably not. The kittles have both been well behaved this Caturday. It started getting hot early so not much balcony time to Theresa's chagrin. I Hope that you and little Noah have a pleasant evening. TTFN TTT -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Hi Tracy.....I hope you and precious furbabies had a good Caturday. Hopefully those neighbors will get tired of that silly noisy game. It was peaceful here today and the birds were gone when I fed them about an hour ago instead of them flying down to eat. All of a sudden it started raining pretty hard. I guess they knew. We watched the race, a surprise who won. I picked Gemologist in my mind, simply because I love gemstone jewelry.
Tracy I know how you feel about those wealthy people spending all that money. One of their hats would feed us for a long time. Blackie didn't show up this morning, guess he went to the Derby. He was okay last night. Tracy, I hope you and furbabies have a peaceful and cozy evening and I hope next week will bring you some good news.....You all are always in my thoughts and prayers. Give the little ones a special pat for me.....TTFN LoveMyMickey -------------------- "Love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation." |

Glad to hear your husband is doing better. I'm also glad to hear Blackie is doing OK too. Those "noisy" neighbors were probably off doing something with the Derby. It's not just the rich and famous, but most of my neighbors doing leaps and bounds better than me. What's funny is that I never see any of them come and go with any regularity indicating like, a job? I probably don't even want to know where the money is coming from. Still it's hard not to feel like it's just not fair. I'm a little embarrassed not to know who won; was it your horse? Anyway, in the middle of laundry and loving on Theresa and Tang. Hope you are well. TTFN TTT -------------------- Nature's first green is gold

Hi Tracy...I hope you and furbabies are having a peaceful Sunday...."I'll Have Another" won the derby, a surprise. I just now read a story on AOL that a dead man was found behind one of the barns this morning. Nobody seems to know who he is or what happened.
Blackie showed up this morning for breakfast and enjoyed his food, then left again.......Give the furbabies a special pat for me and have a blessed Sunday and week......TTFN.. LoveMyMickey -------------------- "Love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation." |

Hi, Tracy, cloudy, sometimes sunny greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this Sunday afternoon. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in reasonably good spirits.
None of the horses that were my favorites in yesterday's Derby made a good showing, except for Union Rags. He made what I think is a remarkable run coming in 7th after running dead last for most of the race. Gemologist was another "favorite" of mine, along with Hansen and Sabrecat. I don't think there is a major contender this year for the Triple Crown, which means that Affirmed's title remains intact for another year. YEA!!! I must confess it really burns me when all the talk of past Derby winners focuses on Secretariat - - while little to NO mention is made of Affirmed who was a brilliant horse with an excellent jockey. Today is a low key one here recovering from yesterday's activities. I hope the weather is suitable in your neighborhood - - and atmosphere as well - - so that your precious furkids can enjoy some quality balcony time. Noah is enjoying an afternoon nap on his lamb's wool cushion as I'm writing to you. Thank you so much for sharing how things are going for you and your precious Theresa and little Tang. I hope you and your precious fur tribe will have a very peaceful and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. Thank you moon_beam and LoveMyMickey (glad hubby and Blackie are doing OK)
Yes, I saw the derby results in the paper this morning. Now there is a quaint notion: a newspaper. There was an interesting piece in the forum by a woman who grew up on a farm speaking out about what a wasteful society we are. Here, here. And for that matter I remember when the classifieds was more than 4 pages and the Sunday edition was THE place to look for local jobs. Sigh, no more. On that note no more luck on finding one lately. Apparently 8 weeks is the time for UE review as I found out on the automated phone system this morning. I guess I know where I will be spending the majority of tomorrow. Fortunately, there's a branch office quite near me on Preston Highway. I imagine I will be there for quite some time. But I anticipated that in figuring my check would be delayed in regard to the rent. Theresa and Tang are as well as can be expected. Tang keeps getting the drainage on the fur out side his ear; I was able to get some of it, but gave up after he started trying to bite and claw indicating it hurt ![]() -------------------- Nature's first green is gold
