Hello my name is Ann and my little girl was born on 2-4-94 Her name is Snookie and she is a Miniature Schnauzer. She has so many things wrong with her, she has cancer, Cushings Disease and many other things. The Vet said he did not believe Snookie would live past August but she has been holding on so far.. My Snookie has been in the hospital in the past and now in the last week she has been sleeping a lot and gets so tired easily. She is my very heart beat, my baby, my companion and I cry and have cried many tears. I know she will be 11 soon but it is just not long enough. All I can do is make the best of the time we have left and pray that God will make her well. Thanks for reading my story of my precious girl Snookie. Snookie's Mama Ann

--------------------

My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart.
Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

My heart goes out to you and your beloved friend, Snookie. I know your pain and your fears seem overwhelming right now, but remember to stay strong and give all of the love in your heart to your darling (I know that you are happy.gif ). She needs it to get better. You both will be in my prayers tonight, and I sincerely do hope everything will work out for the best for the both of you.
God bless and be with you and Snookie,
Summer

Hi, I sent you a private message, but I want to say here again how sorry I am to hear about your precious little Snookie. At least two of us here today have expressed the thought that we always wondered how we would make it without our furry little babies. As much as you cry now and as much as you hurt now, you do still have Snookie, thank goodness. We all have made it, but it has been the hardest thing we have ever, ever done for most of us. I am so happy Snookie is still with you. I say these things because as bad as you can imagine it to be when she is gone, there is really no way to prepare yourself for the utter devastation that does come.

I know your days with Snookie are so very special to you and to Snookie. Take pictures, do all the things Snookie loves, and hold her tight every minute that you can. I wish I could have my Hannah girl back for just awhile. Take care, Snookie's mom. Give Snookie a big hug and a kiss for me!
Love,
Marcia

I know how sad you are feeling and the only advise I can give is try not to think about it to much, when the time comes you will know and go into a kind of autopilot, its as if someone overtakes you and does it for you, or maybe its just your heart overriding your head.

Try not to cry when the time comes, I know this may seem a stupid thing to say, but Snookie will appreciate it, my husband just couldn’t stop crying and Jude’s last hours were spent worrying about him.

I pray for you that the final decision is taken out of your hands and that Snookie has a peaceful passing.

We will be here for you when you need someone to talk to.

Love Sue

You are right - it is not long enough. But it is NEVER long enough. Whether it's a year, two years or twenty years - the pain may be different but it will still be there.

But you have already realized something very important - you still have some time left. Hold her as often as you can, smell her fur, play games, hug, cuddle and spoil her.

By all means, pray for God to make her well. I hope, personally, you have a long time still left together. But don't forget that if God takes her, perhaps that is the only way to relieve her of her pain. Don't begrudge her the freedom of letting go. It takes a great deal of courage to say good-bye.

My thoughts are with you - and I hope, I truly do, that you have many many more days together.

Dear Ann,
First of all ... what a dear puppy Snookie is. She is beautiful, you just want to give her a hug. You are doing the right thing by making the best of the time you have left. I will say extra prayers for you and Snookie.

I was in your shoes, my little boy had lymphoma and died in August. I devoted my time to him because I knew I would lose him. I am so glad I did that now. You will be glad you did too.

Love and Belief,
Vicki

I want to thank you all so much for your words of comfort and your kindness. I am sorry I do not know how to post to each one of you separately. I am 51 years old and I have only lost 1 other dog fur baby and although I was so sad and upset then, this feels so different. I feel like I am losing my heart with Snookie. My husband said it was fine to quit my job and stay home with my little girl so that's what I did and I have not been sorry. She used to go to work with me until she became so ill, in fact there wasn't very many places that I did not take her. She is my constant companion and the love of my life. I ran from vet to vet to try to save her but each one said there is nothing that can be done, no operation can fix her, one vet told me no amount of money in this world that I was willing to save my baby could do that. I will hold her, love her, and try to give her all the love she has given to me over the years. Yet even my best can never repay for all her love and devotion she has brought into my life. Snookie's Mama Ann,

You are really and truly a devoted mom to your little Snookie. I will keep you and your little girl in my prayers. I am glad for both of you that you get to stay home with her. I am so very sorry there's nothing the vets can do. You can rest easy though knowing you tried everything. We can pray for a miracle.

I's so sorry that your little Snookie is so ill. What a difficult time you are going through.

This may sound strange, but: be gratefull that you have the opportunity to be a part of her last days It is always heartbreaking to let them go/. My dog died suddenly and unexpectedly, and I had no chance to say goodbye, and that broke my heart to pieces. How I wish that I had known that she was sick (she had a hidden heart defect).

Enjoy each and every day that she is still with you.

Once again, I am so sorry.

Hello Ann,
Today is the first day I've been able to write anything to you. I see that picture of your precious Snookie and my heart just aches for you. You see, we too had a wonderful Miniature Schnauzer, Dieter, who we lost on September 8th. He was my baby and my special friend, my heart, and I miss him more than words can convey. No matter how many years you have with your little ones, it's never long enough.

Everyone has already said it, but just spend every minute with Snookie and hold her and love her. Treasure what time she has left. What a wonderful supporting husband you have to work it out so you could take a break from work and just be with her. I know that means the world to you and to Snookie too. Ann, we are here for you whenever you need.
Your in my thoughts and prayers
Libby

what a beautiful girl you have. Just have hope and enjoy your time with her. We almost lost our baby 4 yrs ago to pancreatitis and she got better and thrived for 4 more yrs. She was 11 and it was not enough time with her but she brought us such joy to our lives. My prayers go out to you.

Ann,

What a precious bond you and Snookie have. And you always will---here in your physical forms, and then, eventually, for eternity.

I will send intense prayers your way.

One thing I wanted to add is just reminding you not to feel the need to be "perfect" for Snookie. If you need to get out for a walk, if you need to soak in the tub, if you need extra sleep, if you need to watch a mindless TV show--- fulfilling these needs will refresh you and make you an even-more-attentive Mom. smile.gif You are human and may need to take breaks from the intensity of feelings. While you're doing other things, Snookie can be getting some sleep wink.gif , which is very healing in itself. I am SO SO glad you don't have to work!!!

Write to us any time, about your feelings, how Snookie is doing---anything. Give her a big hug and kiss from me. She is absolutely precious, and so are you.

Much love,

Kathy

Thank you, Ann. Hannah was a precious little thing, so cute and sweet, so tiny. I hope you and Snookie are having a good weekend. (By the way, one of my first cousins name is Snookie, and I also have another first cousin named Hannah!)

oh how I know what your feeling. I too lost my love, my son, my best friend due to cancer as well. I know all the gut wrenching feelings your going though. Hang in there and enjoy the time you do have left. Spoil your baby with treats and fresh foods. I did and I'm so glad I gave Buddy his last days of his life filled with fresh steak, chicken and liver treats galour.
My heart goes out to you and your baby. I so understand you.
