And keep in mind, a little bit o' 'nip (esp. if it's fresh leaves) goes a long way towards making them forget aaaaaallll about those food cravings! (or tiny bits of Bonito fish flakes - few calories, non-fattening and super-concentrated flavour!!) Then you'll BOTH feel better.

I have it!! A GREAT INVENTION!

Styrofoam packing peanuts, and wet them with opened Omega-3 fish oil capsules!

He eats them, and fills up and is satisfied.

THEN I can recover the styrofoam peanuts from the litterbox, wash them, and reflavor them, and the cycle can go on forever!

Ecologically Friendly-RECYCLE!

Almost NO calories! (>1 calorie/ 10 milligrams- That should be enough to make the peanut smell fishy!)

NO COST! Everyone ships them for free just to get rid of them!

NO COOKING-Saves Energy!

I think my wife has fallen under Iggy's spell now.

We were watching him playing and doing his little tricks, when I said, "Look at adorable little cattums! He is the SON I never had!".

She said, "Stop talking like that in front of him! You are making him conceited and unbearable!!"

Another clue... When I pick him up to kiss him (shut up) he smells of her perfume, so something has been going on behind my back.

If his head is the size of a grapefruit then the only obvious answer, Jon........

is......you must get a BIGGER TV SCREEN!

And no matter what you say about this boy.........every picture you add shows he is
definitely still adorable. wub.gif

Hey, Igward. While we are talking, can you solve a mystery?
____________________________________________________

Why are there Tuxedo Cats?

Attached Image

The graceful Siamese was created to be seen.

Tabby slinks through grass , a little hunting machine.

The Black Cat lurks in shadow to surprise its human mate.

And the Calico in camoflage, fades into the scene.

The Russian Blues and Greys, stand still and wait. And wait.

The Marmalade in fallen leaves, a terror to the prey,

And the White cat rolls upon her back, spoiled and wants to play.

The big Maine Coon sleeps on his chair, and for a cat that's normal.

But what's this guy with the fancy suit who follows me night and day?

A little pink nose, and all dressed up, in a tux so formal?

What was Nature thinking, to make such a grand design?

To dress them up in little suits in black and white so fine?

To paint them black, and give them little white gloves and socks,

White whiskers and a long black tail, hanging like a vine?

And make them run and bounce around, with muscles hard as rocks.

?

If you have to ask, my friend, you have a lot to learn!

For I am a noble cat, and my friendship you must EARN.

While I may dress for Ascot, and you dress for the City Dump,

Never question Nature's gift to you, nor my friendship ever spurn,

Nor mock my lovely wardrobe, or I'll bite you on your rump.

There is something very special about the tuxedo...and those who have the pleasure to share their lives with them, know that everyday brings for a new adventure.....

So strange. I never had one before, but always seemed to know someone who had one. I have had some beautiful cats, including Registered Siamese and Burmese, and a lot of plain vanilla Felix Vulgari who were beautiful. Molly was a gorgeous Tabby, for example.

But I do keep looking at His Excellency, and genuinely admire him because of his symmetry..and pink nose.
But still, it does not make SENSE to me why the Tuxedos are colored that way. One would think their prey could easily see them! It is not a camouflage, like the Tabby (Or the lynx or the lion, etc.).

Yet, there are just too many around to indicate they catch less game...or they would have disappeard from the gene pool!

There are so many around that a local cat shelter had a "Putting on the Ritz" event to adopt out all their Tuxedos. I am proud to say that many of Ignatius The Great's pictures were able to help!!
They asked permission to use them and were printed full out from the 5 megapixel RAW files...The one with him demanding the Jaguar be brought around, the ones with the Harrod's bags, the Forbes cover, etc., and a few I had not put up here, like..

I hate to say it but my Molly got like that, too. If there were just some way of letting air out of them or something....Molly was a big tabby...and she did not really look FAT, just...inflated like a football, you know...bigger in the middle than the ends. And it SWAYED when she walked. Like a dairy cow.

Maybe it is tabby cat genetics. My dad had a big tabby like that...Porky. He got to be 20+ years old, so his weight didn't seem to have an adverse effect on his health.

Ha! That's funny, Joanne....I'd found the same 2 articles on Tuxedos, but decided not to add the one about the 200% intelligence factor here, for 2 reasons...

....firstly, lest Iggy's head expand to the size of an exercise ball laugh.gif ....and secondly, because if you read the replies below the article, apparently many of these 'facts' were simply jokes made up to celebrate that woman's love of "Jellicles." (what an odd name for them!) So like the responder, I didn't want to be spreading myths.

...but to be perfectly honest, my REAL reason was because I simply couldn't agree, knowing that Siamese bloodlines are really the ones that carry the most intelligence in the feline kingdom! laugh.gif tongue.gif I do wonder if it's true, though, that Siamese really ARE the most vocal.....I know MY kidlets certainly were, of all the cats I've ever met, even compared to Princess, the neighbour's cat, who's got even more Siamese in her than my kids did - she talks to me SO much like Nissa & Sabin did, but is still not as LOOOOUUUUUDDDDD about it as they were. biggrin.gif

Mr. Jingles LOOKS Siamese & talks a lot but with just a soft burrrrt noise. You always know when he is coming into the room, or about to do something in the next room or even headed for the litter box.

He was born on a farm that only had black or black & white cats for several years. No Siamese anywhere to be seen! His Mother was black & white and his 2 brothers were black.

He walks on a leash & rides in the car as good as our dog. He is smarter than any cat I've ever had although my black kitty was also pretty smart. He maybe had Siamese blood as he had a similar personality to Mr. Jingles.

Be they black, white, yellow, tuxedo, tabby, siamese, maine coon, we each know for a fact that the cats we own are the smartest as well as the most beautiful cats on the face of the earth! wub.gif

Fleasy, my beloved Siam-mix, like Sabin, used to answer the phone. And by that I mean when it rang he picked up the cord just behind the receiver in his teeth. We lived alone during my college days, and I used to call him from bars. Never could get him to take a message though laugh.gif . He also knew when there was turkey in the house, even if it was frozen. And he would lie in the kitchen floor and kick and howl ( as only a Siamese can ) until he got some. We never had a problem with guests that stayed too long at Thanksgiving. laugh.gif

BK. was the only tuxedo cat I was ever blessed with. I can't say that he was more intelligent than other cats, but he behaved very differently than other cats I've known.

That was one of the oddities of BK.'s behavior I had never seen before. I was so surprised when I slipped him into the makeshift bubble-wrap life jacket the physical therapist made for him and put him in the tub. He liked the warm water and he seemed to enjoy the whole thing. Then too, it was always clear to me that Beekie knew when people were trying to help him.

Will the press be allowed in to cover the Emperor's birthday celebrations on the 16?

If I can get him to keep the hat on. He keeps chewing the elastic. Maybe I should cut earholes in it. So far the plan is proceeding.

The "Cake" will be a disk of Salmon and Shrimp Fancy Feast, with a sardine for a candle. My wife wants to stick a candle in the sardine's mouth, but he does not know about fire, and I am afraid he'll lose some whiskers. I am very protective of him.

The Main Event, will, of course, be Corned Beef and Cabbage a day early.

The next day, just for one day, we will put the mitre on him, and he'll drive the snakes out of the yard. (Heehee, or the lawyers out of the neighborhood..)

I forgot....Iggy has his own domain now, as a 1-year birthday present! Everyone on here has seen most of this stuff, so there is not much new, but it will cut down on external link traffic to this site.

There is a link to this site's main page, in case people who visit Iggy have lost someone.

Is there any truth to the rumor that His Majesty's jeweler had to send out for an extra tape measure, in order to measure him for a new diadem? laugh.gif
