Last Wednesday night Squeak, my wonderful guinea pig, passed away of an upper respiratory infection and of old age. Her body just wore out.

I still feel the pain and the grief. Squeak was so amazing and unique. If I could wish for anything right now, it would be for Squeak to come back to me.

It feels like just yesterday that Squeak's tongue lovingly licked my hand, yet it feels like it's been a year. So many feelings...I feel so confused and lost. No one seems to understand. It's just a guinea pig, they're thinking...

...but she wasn't just a guinea pig. She was special, my special little girl. I loved the feeling of her whiskers tickling my nose. She had a special spark in her eye. I tried to follow her motto..."Love life!" She truly was a special piggy.

I no longer have any guinea pigs. People are expecting me to get more. I'm not ready yet...but how could I ever explain that to them? They wouldn't understand.

I know you're with your best friend and half-sister now, Squeak. Curly was waiting for you at the bridge, I'm sure, to show you around your new world. I know you're exploring it right now and loving every minute of your spirit life...just like you did when you were alive.

I am so sorry for your loss of Squeak. I know what you mean about wanting her to come back. I lost my wonderful cat Dugan 3 1/2 weeks ago and all I can think about is wanting him back. Like this was some HUGE mistake and someone will make it right.

I am sorry for your sadness and grief but you will find that this is a safe place to come and pour out your heart and everyone here understands. They are ALL precious little souls, and we all grieve for what we have lost.

You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

As a former guinea pig owner, I understand just how you feel. My two guinea pigs, Sara and Peggy, were delightful individuals with distinct personalities. Anyone who looked at them and thought "just guinea pigs," has very shallow vision.

I was devestated when they passed away, one from medical malpractice and the other after a long illness.

You will know when the time is right to get some more guinea pigs - more than one is always better since they are herd animals and are happier with other pigs.

My thoughts and prayers are with you,

Thank you. You don't know how much you have helped me...I really feel a bit happier right now, now that I've talked to both of you. Thank you. I find that drawing pictures of Squeak also helps.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I truly believe your precious Squeak wub.gif is up at the Bridge with all of our kids. I know they are happy & without pain and illness.

When I was younger, I had a sweet little hamster named, "Snoopy". I loved that lil' furry so much.

Their love stays in our hearts forever!

Peace & Love,

Denise
