I haven't posted in a while, just trying to focus on activities with my daughter and enjoying my pool. I can finally listen to music without Misty, the grief seems to be getting better each month-we jsut hit 7 months and I feel so much better I can offer new grievers a great deal of hope......
Anyways, a few weeks ago my DH and I were sitting out in the backyard playing with our daughter when a black cat looking just like Misty appeared. At first I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, but sure enough, it was for real. We sat with our daughter on her blanket and fed the cat some tuna. IT kept soming back so we asked a few neighbors. It turns out the cat had been dumped by the son of an elderly neighbor that had moved to a retirement home. Two neighbors begged us to take in the cat, as they either had dogs or another cat and weren't in the position to. She is so sweet, and so thrilled to have a home. She pretty much lives outside, but we have a huge screened in porch with comfy furniture where we have made a bed. We named her Magic because she magically appeared jsut as our grief process seemed to be hitting a more positive level and we were ready for her. I don't have as much time to put into developing the relationship, as my daughter and I are out with so many activities of the Mommy and Me sort. But, Magic is young and doesn't seem to require constant attention. We still miss Misty very much, but my DH feels Misty sent Magic to help us along...... |
