Hi. I'm Jennifer. Four days ago I had to have my cat, Simone, put down. Needless to say I have been a wreck since then, overcome with grief, anxiety, and panic attacks. Everyone keeps telling me that it just takes time but, I honestly don't know if I can recover from this. I had her for 8 wonderful years and I miss her so very bad. Any help in getting through this is appreciated. Thank you and God bless.

Hi, Jennifer, please permit me to add my sincerest sympathies in the physical loss of your beloved Simone. Losing a companion is never easy regardless of the circumstances or how long we are blessed with the privilege of their company. Losing a companion at a young age can intensify the grief. Euthanasia is the last gift of love we can give to our companions at great sacrifice to ourselves so that they can be restored to their former youthfulness in the company of the angels.

This grief journey is one of the most painful experiences you will know on this side of eternity. It is a journey that is filled with many different emotions that can overwhelm us all at one time which is why it is frequently referred to as a horror roller coaster ride. This grief journey can only be traveled one day at a time sometimes one moment at a time with the reassurance t that you are not alone. Each of us here does understand what you are going through, Jennifer, and we are here for you for long and as often as you need us.

Although you are now faced with the enormous task of adjusting your daily routines to the physical absence of your beloved Simone there is one thing that will never change - - the love bond you and your beloved Simone share. Love is eternal - - it is not restricted to the physical laws of time and space. Your beloved Simone's sweet Living Spirit continues to be a part of your heart and memories - - she is always and forever a heartbeat close to you.

I know so very well from first hand experience that when our hearts are entrenched in deep grief there really are no adequate words in any language that can soothe searing pain of sorrow. Still I hope the words I share with you will offer you some measure of comfort, support, encouragement, and hope as you travel your grief adjustment journey.

Thank you so much for honoring us in sharing your beloved Simone with us. Perhaps sometime you will feel up to sharing a picture of her - - but only if / when you want to. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Jennifer, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam
