Zena was the second kitten I raised to adulthood, Bue-Bue was my first. Zena always went to bed, and woke up with me every single morning. She was a little terror when she was little, LOL. She wrecked my leather dining room set, and terrorized my other cats. Puddin' was a cat who adopted me when she was about 2 yrs old, I made her Zean's adopted cat mom. They loved each other so much, and it showed.
Puddin'' passed ion Aug 5 of last yr, she was about 17 yrs old. It devastated me, because it came on so suddenly. I also tried to force feed her, but to no avail. Finally I just had to let her go. She died in my arms, just as the others had. I have had 6 cats die in 22yrs, they were all elderly when they passed. 5 of them are burred in the woods, I had Zena cremated on Fri, the facility that I took her to was exemplary. The staff was caring, and understanding. The process took about an hr, and then I bought her home. She is in a little cedar box, with her name, and dates on a brass plaque. I placed her on a granite table, with flowers, and plants, and a desktop waterfall. I also loaded a sd card with a lot of her pics, my other kitties also are on the card. I have made Youtube vids with all of them also. So when I feel lonely, I can watch her videos I really miss her, but having her next to me almost makes it bearable. Zena was one of a kind, and I loved her, on her plaque it says forever in my heart. If any of you live in Mass, I would highly recommend the place I took her to. Please send me a message, and I'll give you the name. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I have one kitty left, Nibblez. Bue was Nibbiez adopted dad. he still meows for him. I'm done after this no more animals for me, I can't take the pain. Just a side note the facility staff had a small dog, and a gorgeous Maine Coon. I gave the dog a treat since I keep them in my car, and I gave the big kitty belly rubs, and took a pic. Someone had left this kitten, and they adopted him, I'll post his photo a bit later. Take Care

Bue's Mommy, I am sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved Tina (also a calico) last April 28. The calicos are indeed special cats. They get very attached to their human. Tina also slept with me every night. She would greet me at the door and wait for me sitting in the window. She could be a bit temperamental at times, wanting to get her own way, but I loved her, "cali-tude" and all. I can imagine how much you miss Zena. You are only starting out on the grief journey. I was devastated the first two week after Tina died. I had a hard time sleeping at night, because Tina wasn't there, and I always cried myself to sleep. I can understand when you say "no more animals for me". It does cause immense pain when they pass on. I know there isn't really anything I can say to make it better, just that my heart goes out to you.

Zena was my second Calico, they are truly special. I'm so sorry about Tina, it's never easy. when I read your post I started crying, I did with DannysMom as well, you both know what it's like, and most on this forum as well. I walk 5 miles a day with my friends dog, who was friends with Zena, I'll post the pic later. It has really helped me, maybe more of a distraction than anything else. DannysMom, if you look at the top of the page I made a thread that remembers the good times we have had with are babies, please feel free to post link to vidz or pics. That you so much for your kind words. Take Care
