I am new to the site and am glad I found it. I lost my dog Buddy 2 weeks ago after 14 years. He was old and I knew the time was drawing near - he died at home with me lying next to him and for that I am grateful. I had called the vet to ask him if he could come put him to sleep but he said no, he'd be in the office in the a.m. I was so distraught that it didn't occur to me to call another vet that I knew to come help me. I am haunted by Buddy's last hours and the thought that he was suffering. I am so sad without him. I miss him so much and expect to see him and he's not there. It's so hard to change your habits after so many years. Some days are better than others and tonight it's not so good. Just when I need him the most to comfort me, he's not here. I am so lonely without him - he was truly my "Buddy".

I felt just the same way. I lost my kitty 2 weeks ago. And a creature who I needed most to comfort me and to be back in my arms, was of course not able to comfort me as he had passed on.
I am so sorry for your loss. This grief thing can be overwhelming, but you know you can find support here. |
