One Month Today, Jasper - 9/21/08-4/4/09 Options

So, it's been a month since my Jazzy was hit by a truck and I mourn his loss daily. I finally got up the courage to open the box that the MSU Vet Hospital sent us. Inside was a clay imprint of Jazzy's paw. You can feel the texture of his pads. I cried my eyes out, hugging this piece of clay to my chest. The grief is still there but I'm relieved to say it's not the "heart being ripped from your chest" intensity of a couple weeks ago. There is sadness and an ache in my heart but it's manageable - still painful, but manageable. Thank you everyone who has sent me words of kindness through some of the darkest days of my life.
