6 days ago I had to put my best friend to sleep, Brutus Beefcake. He has been by my side for almost 16 years. The last few months were bad, I administered meds (he did NOT like that!), I watched him slowly deteriorate, so now all thats in my mind are these last months and especially Monday aug. 25th when I felt it was the day for him to be put to rest, he seemed to tell me in his own way that he was tired.
I want to remember him how he was, vibrant, FAT, funny, full of himself. Very lazy, but once in a while a burst of energy with a catnip toy. He especially liked to run to try to pounce on the chipmunks running by the big glass door, only to whack his head on the glass, lol! He was too much. God I loved him, with all my heart. I never thought this day would come where I'd be without him, the loneliness is unbearable. But writing some tributes has really helped. Here he was in his prime, and maybe you can see why I was in love,,,,,,,,

What a truly magnificent boy. My most profound sympathies. The passing of such beauty from this world, always brings tears to my eyes.
