My sweet baby Ui that I posted about in the new beginings has been acting weird over the last day or so. Shes been just listless, feels kind of floppy when I pick her up and just kind of acting funny. Shes pooping normal, peeing normal, even eats and drinks, but just sleeps and sleeps. And her little white lids are half way over her eyes.. I'm so unbelievably worried about her, and I'm taking her into the vet first thing in the morning but at the moment I'm just so upset and worried. I don't want to lose another baby..

Trust your instincts. Since Ui is on an antibiotic right now...and as long as she is an indoor kitty and not allowed outside...maybe you might wait on the shots until she is acting completely normal again. Tuesday seems awfully close to the present where she is on a medicine now.

You could read a post in the Cybershoulder section on Page 2 called Vaccine Time Again by Simba's daddy. There are some good suggestions there.

There is one post here in this section on Page 3 but between the 2 I think you would get more out of the Cybershoulder post.

I do know because my cats were 100% inside....they did not get any booster shots. I wasn't happy when they would act sick for a while. I don't remember what they got as kittens but I did have them tested for cat diseases and they were okay. I do remember my girl getting up to date shots as an adult once when she was at the vet for something else and she did not act normal for a couple of days...and I never had any of them get anything more the rest of their lives. I never had to board them else then I would have wanted to be sure they didn't catch anything in a strange place.

Some cats have reactions. What shots are necessary per the vet? Some places only require a rabies shot (again as a protection for outside animals). But from the reaction I saw from my girl, I would rather be sure she was always inside my home than watch her foam and act listless.
(By the way, my dogs never acted different but for some reason...some cats are very sensitive).

You should do what you feel comfortable with. I am sure the vet would be okay that you would like to wait to see if this antibiotic helps Ui and getting her to full kitten energy level before considering vaccines. You can also call and schedule another appointment when you feel comfortable..if you decide you do feel comfortable.

Hugs to Ui....and you too. Please keep us updated about this little sweetheart.
