My sweet baby Ui that I posted about in the new beginings has been acting weird over the last day or so. Shes been just listless, feels kind of floppy when I pick her up and just kind of acting funny. Shes pooping normal, peeing normal, even eats and drinks, but just sleeps and sleeps. And her little white lids are half way over her eyes.. I'm so unbelievably worried about her, and I'm taking her into the vet first thing in the morning but at the moment I'm just so upset and worried. I don't want to lose another baby..

Thanks for the update. I am glad you will be seeing the vet. She is a little baby kitten and it is good you would question giving her any shots unless the vet knows if she is okay or not.

I know just before I lost my Little Guy, he was scheduled for a surgery for dental work..and..he had not been eating right for a few weeks so I knew he was not in the best physical condition but he had a painful dental lesion that had to be fixed. When I left him for the surgery..the receptionist gal totaled up the bill and I saw a bunch of shots being listed and charged for. I said why did she put shots down and she said...well, he is due..and I said..he is a sick cat..is in a weakened condition...is going under anesthetic for dental work and the last thing in the world he needs is live or dead vaccines. She did start to argue with me but I was firm...he was not healthy enough at that time..she checked with the vet who agreed..no shots at this time. It was upsetting that she thought to automatically put that down. If I hadn't caught it..he would have been given those shots..without the vet ordering them and discussing them with me first. I would rather go in for another visit at a time the vet felt it was okay to get a shot. Vaccines can be tricky and I have read about reactions I would not be happy about.

You are right to find out what is going on with the kitty before she gets any shots...maybe the vet wants to take a blood test and see how she is doing....you felt something wasn't right and your instincts are your baby's best defense. I hope what you noticed about the kitty can be explained. It was enough that you made the appointment...which we do not do unless we really are concerned.
Trust your instincts.

Please update us after you see the vet and let us know how this sweetheart is.

Hugs to you and Ui wub.gif
