Hello, everyone.Tonight I am feeling sad but I am getting better every day. It's been almost 2 months (Dec. 13th) since my boy Sox passed away and that anniversary has got me thinking of ways to honor his life. With the holidays fast approaching I need to hear from others on ways to help me honor my boy's life and pay tribute to all the good years I had with him. What's everyone else going to be doing in that regard for the holidays? I already made a small grotto out in our backyard garden with 16 votive candles (one for each year he lived) and that has helped me alot but what are some other ways we could pay tribute??Let's all put our minds together and come up with some ideas.........I do have one but I don't know if we could all pull it off or not, why don't we all agree to light candles in our beloved pets honor say,on the same night at the same time? Then we would know in our hearts that at that time all over the world people would be sharing in the same thoughts and remembering their beloved pets.Anybody want to try that with me? Please let me know and we can arrange a day and time...maybe it could be christmas eve, after all it's the most holy night of the entire year.I know,it's just an idea but I really want to do something for all of our lost pets.Maybe they could even see it from the rainbow bridge if we get enough people to light candles.Anyway,I guess I'm just rambling on and on but if you want to try this let me know.I'll continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers and I hope each one of you has a merry christmas.Sincerely,Renee (Sox's mom forever)

Hi Ryan. Sorry about your loss of Sox.
I lost Pixie on Thanksgiving and thought I'd share some things I did that in an effort to honor her. I donated her RX food to a local shelter group and made a monetary donation as well in her honor. I also made a small donation to a pet loss hotline. There is a candle lighting ceremony Monday evenings at petloss.com. I participated last week. The ceremony was very touching. It was also humbling to see the long list of pets being honored in any given week. Anyway, hope this helps. One last thing, I was inspired by a story I saw on a reality show a couple of weeks ago. This family lost their chihuahua, Peanut, and felt there was no better way to honor Peanut than to adopt another homeless dog. They did it in memory of Peanut. That helped me change my att*itude about adopting another cat and I hope to be able to do that soon as another way to honor Pixie. |
