Dogs can die from hyper- or hypo-glycemia - too much or too little blood sugar. It's possible that this was the cause. It's hard to know even if I knew the history of your dog. Stroke can look like paralysis on half of the body or a really strong one can just knock the life out of them and cause severe brain damage. Seizures can range from the standard tremors with salivation, defecation, urination to just seeming out of it to jittering eyes. The blindness was from the diabetes. Diabetic dogs can be very hard to regulate especially if the diabetes is advanced.
I am sorry for your sudden loss. Don't dwell on the cause. With a serious disease like diabetes, you can only try to regulate their blood sugar. You can't always save them. Emily |
