Our sweet and special 11 yr old, Mama, is sick and we don't really know what's wrong. She spent yesterday and today at the vet, and they sent her home this evening, thinking that she was on the mend. Her pancreas looked inflamed, but all her bloodwork came back normal. She's not eating and is not herself at all. My heart breaks for Mama. She is such a love. Please keep her in your thoughts.
Thank you so much. -Kelly |

Hi, Kelly, please permit me to offer you my sincerest sympathies with your precious Mama not feeling well. As happens sometimes with human patients, medical tests for our precious companions do not always immediately identify a specific medical problem. This is not comforting to us as their human caregivers. If you think it would be helpful do not hesitate to take her to a different vet for a second independent evaluation. This does not mean that you do not trust your primary veterinary care providers. It simply means that you have this right to obtain a second independent medical evaluation for your precious Mama. I hope and pray that she begins to feel better, Kelly. I do so understand how your feeling - - your concerns and sorrow in seeing your precious Mama not feeling well and feeling helpless to know what to do for her.
Please know your precious Mama and you are in my thoughts and prayers, Kelly, and please let us know how she is doing. Peace and blessings, moon_beam -------------------- In heaven's perfect garden there is no grief or pain, and all of God's creation join the angels' sweet refrain.
The most blessed way I have of knowing God's comforting love and grace is to look into the eyes and heart of God's creatures' sweet angelic face. |

Thank you so much, moon_beam, for your comforting words. Mama does not seem to be feeling any better today, and she is not eating or really drinking. I think it is time for a second opinion. Seeing her this sick is heartbreaking and so scary, and brings back so many feelings from Wolfie's illness just shy of 2 months ago.
Thank you again for all your support. Hugs, Kelly |

Hello Kelly
Please allow me to offer my support for your precious Mama cat. I agree with moon_beam, it might be a good idea for a second opinion. I know you said the tests came back negative, but did your vet have any insight at all on what may be wrong? I'm so sorry she does not seem to be doing any better today. We will keep her and you in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know how you are both doing. T -------------------- Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. |
