Hello everyone

I am new to this site .I am happy to see there are other people that feel the same about there angels .
Benjiman was my 7 year old yorkshire terrier he left us early Tuesday morning .It has been a hard 2 days I miss him so much. Benjiman was such a fighter about 2 years ago he had a stroke and was paralized all 4 paws but with alot of love and care he got back the use of 3 paws and was doing well .Then this November he started to act differant not eating as much not playing so off to the vets she did some blood work .He was in kidney failure she said to try some medication it seemed to be working but on Monday he wasn"t feeling well so I made an appointment for Tuesday .My husband was away and was not due back for a few more days .My husband called said he was going to home Monday night just by chance he got home Monday night at 8:30 Ben was up and playing eating and seemed to be doing better 4 hours later he was gone ,.I miss him !! Thank you all for letting you tell my story .

Oh Sabbie, that is so sad, he wasn't very old was he? It seems he didn't enyoy the best of health, but without your love and special caring he wouldn't have made it as far as he did. Benjamin sounds like he was a happy little dog and I know how much you miss him. I know "that pain" and when you're not expecting it to happen there is the shock and disbelief to contend with as well. I just want you to know you have my deepest sympathy and admiration for taking such special care of your angel while you had him xx

Sabbie--I am so sorry for your loss of your precious Benjiman. It sounds like both you and he were fighters, in that you overcame at least 3/4 of his handicap, and that counts for a lot! I'm sure he got marvelous care from you and your husband--how lucky that he came home early!

It's especially hard to lose a beloved four-legged "before their time." Benjiman lived a short but happy life, thanks to you, and thanks to him. Believe me, the pain WILL lessen with time. I know it's hard to believe, but as I have posted in another thread, I've had nine dogs in my life now (I'm OLD), and I have recovered from the loss of eight of them....kinda...sorta. Now that I face the loss of Ladywolf, my last canine kid for awhile, I am mortified, but know that I will somehow live through it.

Sending big blessings and hugs your way--

Margi and Her Ladywolfship

Dear Sabbie

Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for the loss of your darling Benjiman.
It seems so unfair when we lose our darling Angels , especially when they are still only 7. We lost our dear black Lab Sooty at 7 with Liver failure, and like your Benjiman he had health issues for some time, he suffered with Epilepsy and had so many seizures, bless him. Like your Benjiman he fought on until the suffering was too much. That was 18 years ago , February 1st will be his Angelversary.
Benjiman seems to have enjoyed such a good life with you right up to November, and I'm sure since then you will have been loving and caring for him and letting him know how much he is loved. He is with all our Angels now, no longer suffering , they are too precious to have to suffer.
I do hope that you can find help and comfort on this site, as I have. These wonderful people are always there for us. All understanding our pain and all the other emotions that are part of our grieving. It's 4 months since I came to this site after losing my darling Angel Noushka. It helps me to post pictures and share stories of my Angel dogs on here. I have Tasha's 4 year Angelversary coming up in February. The pain does go, eventually, but we never forget or stop loving them.
Thinking of you.

Hugs
Jan and my Angels xx

Hi everyone

I just wanted to thank you all for your caring words. I have been reading this website most of the afternoon and it does help to see
other people feel the samee way I do . Sometimes I am ok but others I feel guilty . It was hard to watch him die in my arms but it would not have been easier to watch the vet. I knew in November the time would come in the near future but I would be prepared for that day .I was very wrong .I had 2 months to get ready .
My heartaches for my Ben .. I know it will get easier and time will heal .He is in a better place and he is not suffering .The thing I need to remember is to celebrate his life.Benjiman was my little hero. Benjiman I Love you and miss you so much

Thank you all

I am so sorry to hear about your little Benjiman. I too just recently lost a pet (1/14) so I know how hard it is to miss them. But you are right, he is not suffering any longer and that is for the better. You gave him a nice, caring life and I hope that you can remember all of the fun, silly memories with Benjiman <3

Molly, you're a marvel! To have just gone through an experience like you have, yet to be posting words of comfort to other people--you're terrific.

Thank you for joining "us"--the "us" I only became a member of a few weeks ago myself!
