Been visiting different sites looking for ideas and ways to memorialize my old friend and pet dog for many years, Townsend. I feel I would like to have something to remember our years together. Certainly am open to what others do to remember.

I'm sure you will find some wonderful suggestions here. So many have done so many different things.

For me, I simply have pictures in every room and my boy is my desktop wallpaper so he is with me everyday.

Some here choose a special place in their home and decorate it especially for their special friend.
Some can recommend Memorial type web sites where they put special videos, pictures, and there are places one can light a candle in memory of a loved one.

You might get some ideas reading through the posts here and also in the Tributes Section, and, I am sure, others here will be glad to share their thoughts and ideas with you.

What I did sounds so simple compared to others. I guess what works best may be when you think of your friend....how would you like to remember him?

But I have seen some wonderful links to Memorials here. I know you will be getting some help here soon.

Our best friends are so very special...we all know your feelings..it is something we all share.

just do what your heart tells you to do. for me, the memorium was this website. i also decorated tribble's cremation urn with his pictures and collar/tag wrapped around it, put some catnip and treats and a toy inside for him too.

photos are a great way to go, as mentioned above...assembling a collage or scrapbook will bring good memories for years to come once the pain subsides. you'll get more people with suggestions i'm sure.

I so sorry for your loss of Townsend. Sometimes I don't think you can ever do enough to satisfy. It's just material stuff. The real memorials I think come from within, just remembering the good times..Ok, enough, too deep, I know..Well, for me, I had my boy cremated. His ashes are pretty much everywhere. A little buried in his favorite spot, in a box with his favorite toys, a little at my place, a little in a locket. Pictures put together in an album. Photos with toys and his blanket on a shelf. A flameless candle will be lit everyday until I reach the 1 yr anniversary. Photos can be put anywhere, like computers, buttons, pins, clothing, you can put one in your car. You can paint his name on a stone and place it in your yard or anywhere. Once you start, you won't be able to stop. Helps keep the memories alive. If you come up with something unique, please feel free to share...Good luck..Ann
