The waif count was a bit sparse again this morning. Before I saw him, I heard Tux Jr. I think he does that to make sure it's the "food man" and not some jerk. He seemed happy to see me though. I also saw Little Gray and White Cat up by the pool and gym.

Yeah, I'm really not looking forward to going to that job Monday. Especially depending on how soon I'd have to go to my shift of 2-10:30 as Anne and I won't get to have supper and watch our shows together If all goes well, ADP is supposed to start 10/16. So, two weeks exactly. It will be my pleasure to walk out of Transcentra.

Tang was in pretty good spirits this morning and seemed to be doing well when we left to go to a street fair downtown. It was kind of a bust BTW. So, we found a 5/3 branch open in a Kroger so I could get TARC tickets for next week and there was a Great Clips there so I got my hair cut.

I can so empathize with you about not looking forward to going to a job. Am I correct in assuming that the Transamerica hours are 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.? How will this work out with your transportation? The good news is that it's only for 2 weeks until you're able to start your job at ADP. I'm so glad you now have an official start date there, so it really gives you something to look forward to. Please let us know how things are going.

So glad you saw some of the regular community waif gang yesterday during your provisioning. I'm so smiling at Tux Jr letting you know he's about so that you can let him know it's safe for him to join you. And it's always a blessing to share your news that your precious Tang is doing well.

It has been a bit of a different day here. Plans for the day significantly changed when I tried to start the car and nothing happened -- no sound of any kind when I turned the ignition on. Signs of a very dead battery. So I called AAA, and within the hour a young man was here to start the car for me. When he got the car started through a jump start, he had me turn off the ignition and then try to re-start the car - - and once again not a whimper. He got the car started again and I left the car running while I called one of the local service centers to see if they could install a new battery for me. So I had to take the car into the service center to have that done - - this was already mid afternoon around 2 p.m.. It was around 3 p.m. when I got back home and needed to get Noah his lunch and get something to eat as well. My precious Noah has had his dinner now and I'm trying to get caught up with some things before settling down for the evening. I have an MD appointment tomorrow with my regular doctor - - that appointment is around 12 Noon - - I don't know if I'll be able to be online tomorrow, but just wanted to let you know so that you wouldn't be concerned.

I start my 2-10:30 hours today which stinks. Given that schedule, I will post when I can. I can take the bus there, and Anne will pick me up. It's going to take sleeping in "shifts" for us to spend any time together though. Hopefully it's temporary. I say hopefully because all ADP wanted from her are the GED transcripts which we both have. From me they want better contacts for 2 jobs and my college transcripts which I have already mailed off for from the education commission since that school closed down years ago. Given the typical government snail pace, who knows how long that will take. I'm betting she gets cleared way before I do (sigh)

The hoops people have to jump through to satisfy an employer's HR policies is - - in my opinion - - absurd. I hope all goes smoothly for your "clearance" to work at ADP. It sounds like that job would be better work hour-wise as well as giving you and Anne an opportunity to work for the same employer. Please let us know how things go.

Yesterday's MD appointment with my regular doctor went well. The other two specialists have not been doing a great job in keeping him informed as to what they have been doing in terms of tests and medications, so I brought him up to date on everything that has been happening since I last saw him in May, as well as gave him a list of all the medications and treatments the specialists have prescribed thus far. I got the first pneumonia vaccination yesterday which needs a booster next year as well as the flu shot. Tomorrow I go to my rheumatologist for a blood test, so since that will be a full day I may not be online tomorrow, but I'll be back as soon as I can - - just want to give you a heads up so that you don't get concerned.

Otherwise things here are going okay. My precious Noah and I had a nice sleep in this morning. He joined me here at the big computer around 11:30 a.m. to greet me and keep me company as I have been working on various things - - financials and my grocery list.

My friend, I hope things are going relatively okay for you with your current job, and am so glad that Anne picks you up after your shift to take you home. And once again I hope you hear from ADP soon that all your paperwork is in order.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement with my health issues. Yesterday's trip to the MD office for blood tests went smoothly. Now it's a matter of waiting for the results which should be available sometime next week. My brother and I had lunch at a restaurant in a shopping mall close to the MD office before he brought me home. By the time we got home my precious Noah was very anxious to get his lunch as it was well past his normal time to have something to eat. We had a nice evening of snuggles and cuddles before it was time to settle down for bedtime. We had a nice snuggle this morning after his breakfast, and I managed to start my day without disturbing his sweet slumbers. He finally joined me for the day around 12 Noon greeting me and keeping me company as I finished up some chores. Soon it will be time to start getting his lunch for him as my regular volunteer may want to stop by and chat for a bit when she brings my trash can back up to the house later this afternoon.

Didn't have anything pending on the priority list today so took advantage of that and did some much needed vacuuming and dusting here in the basement living quarters. When Noah begins to sneeze it's time to do some cleaning. I managed to do a more thorough job than I've done in the past - - was able to move the bed to get some of the nooks and crannies there, and managed to get the cobweb removed forming on the window sill around Noah's bathroom window perch. Still have the kitchen and computer area to do but that will have to wait for another day as my arms were beginning to hurt a little from using the vacuum cleaner. So I'm taking some time to rest with my precious Noah settled next to me as I'm writing to you. Will need to get Noah's lunch earlier today as my regular volunteer will be here in about 45 minutes or so.

Well, the source of my anxiety has been resolved. In addition to the COE official email for Monday, my college transcripts finally came in the mail. That was the one thing that might have bollixed up the ADP job, but now that's no longer an issue.

That being said, I went to HOV just long enough to turn in my badge and walk out. When I have to stop to heave on the way from the bus stop to there, I tend to take that as a sign

I just got back in from depositing my check from Transcentra and running errands. I should get another from them in 2 weeks.
I got the official all clear (including my transcripts) from the ADP coordinator. I can't seem to get my manager to respond to emails or voice messages about the start time though. If I don't hear back, I will assume the 8:00 start time Anne was told is what I should do.

Today we went to the Flea Off Market downtown, the the Garvin Gate Blues Festival in Old Louisville. Both were disappointingly small and uninspired though.

We are back at Anne's place getting ready to go back to mine. Tang was in good spirits this morning and we are looking forward to getting back to him. He seems to be doing well.

Well, my manager at ADP finally called me back at 4:58 yesterday to confirm my start time (same as Anne's) We are both looking forward to getting started there.

It's been a quiet day so far today. While my precious Noah enjoyed sweet slumbers I got most of the chores done and some quiet project work at the big desk. Our first day of work was OK I guess. It's call center and that is what it is. But I pays fairly well and we both have the same 8:30-5 hours even after training (4 weeks with side by sides this week.) We are also starting a new payroll period, so we will get full checks on the 3rd of November. Today was mostly orientation, etc.

Anne dropped me off at the mail boxes so she could go home to reprovision and come back over here.

Tang met me at the door and has had his supper and shot. I will see if he wants some balcony time. He is doing well.

Yesterday morning I called one of the local churches that has a yearly massive community yard sale to arrange for someone to come pick up the two piece heavy solid oak china cabinet as well as the two boxes of china. A couple of gentlemen are supposed to be here later this afternoon to do that. I have also wanted to add the chime clock as I can no longer keep it running because my hands are not strong enough to use the key to wind the clock. So this morning I managed to take it down from the wall and get it packed in its original shipping box, so that's ready to go with the men this afternoon to be added to the church's yard sale next year. The proceeds from the sale go toward their local community ministry, and that's fine with me.

My precious Noah joined me for the day around 10:30 a.m. to greet me and keep me company as I worked on various projects. Still have a couple of chores to do and will get to them after I get this off to you.

Today we sat in on some training the seasonal temps are getting on the client we will be working on full time (insurance for Georgia state employees) And it was chaos to say the least. I'm glad we are full time and not temps.

The yard maintenance crew was here around 9:30 a.m. shortly before I left, and unfortunately the noise of the mower and leaf blower disturbed my precious Noah's sweet slumbers. He was glad to see me when I got back home, and is now settled next to me keeping me company as I'm writing to you.

The nights have now routinely been cooler so today I decided it was time to change the blankets on the bed from light cotton to fleece sheets. This is just another reminder that summer is no longer here. Since I have well water during the summer when the temps are in the 80's I don't have to use the hot water from the tank when I shower because the water from the well is naturally warmed by the warm ground. This morning when I took my shower I needed to turn on the hot water handle - - yet another reminder it's no longer summer. I am already counting the months until spring arrives again - - 5 months to go.

My precious Noah joined me for the day around 12 Noon to greet me and keep me company while I changed the blankets on the bed and did other chores. He is eagerly anticipating lunch in his bowl, and will get his food for him after I get this sent off to you.

Last night I took a walk around 10:30 because I was restless and I heard either Siamese or Tux Jr (I didn't see at the time) literally scream. Apparently some woman with a mean little dog thought it was funny to hassle them. I (ahem) "disabused" of that notion I stayed with them after she left to try to calm them down. This morning I saw Siamese, White Cat, Little Gray and Bobtail. I think Tux Sr too.

Today we spent the day doing training modules for money laundering, ethics, core values etc. Anne put her laptop (they assign us laptops instead of desktops) on the main viewer and we followed along sans the team lead that's been our trainer. He let us go at 4:30 and said we'd get paid for the full day. Our actual training (4 weeks) begins next week. We should actually just miss open enrollment. Bonus.

Anne is at her place freshening up and Tang met me at the door. He's had his supper/shot but it's a tad too warm for balcony time' maybe later. He is well.

Have been working on scheduling online bill payments for November's bills, printing off receipts and Medicare invoices, etc. My precious boy joined me here at the big computer around 11 a.m. to greet me and has been keeping me company while working. My Canon black ink laser printer is letting me it's just about out of toner so I had to place an order with Amazon. It is scheduled to be here on Tuesday or Wednesday. There's enough toner to get me through until it arrives. The last time I had to put in a new toner cartridge was April. My precious boy is letting me know it's getting close to when lunch is supposed to appear in his bowl, so will get this off to you.

The incident with the woman and her dog was actually Thursday night. This morning while putting out the food, I saw Siamese, Little Gray and Bobtail. When I went to check on my laundry, I saw him again as well as White Cat. I hope the Tux boys are doing OK. There are some other waifs besides that skinny tabby who tend to frequent the front of the property. They don't seem to get a decent shot at the food in the back, so I've taken to putting out a can of food each night behind the dumpster.

Today after lunch (Red Lobster to celebrate Anne's birthday this past Thursday) we went to a Halloween themed street fair in the Highlands. It was really small so we didn't stay long. We also looked at some affordable town homes, but they didn't have any available units to show us; we'll keep checking back.

I'm sure the community waifs were doing okay yesterday, With the rain they may have tried to eat in between the heavier showers. I hope you see some of them today to let you know they are still okay.

Had some errands to do today. I overslept during my precious Noah's and my snuggle together after his breakfast this morning. I had arranged to pick up my grocery order at Kroger between 10 and 11 a.m., so I had to hustle getting ready to make it on time, which I managed to do. I am very impressed with the service and will probably continue to use the ClickList service now rather than requesting assistance with groceries through the Neighbors volunteer program. Then it was over to the bank, then the pharmacy, and finally the post office. When I left my precious Noah was still enjoying sweet slumbers. When I got back home he was patiently waiting for me here in the basement living quarters. We have had several hugs and kisses and now he is settled next to me as I'm writing to you. Being able to do these errands is a blessing after several months of agonizing pain which prevented me from being able to do many things.

Have done some financials work this morning as well, and am now looking forward to focusing my attention on my precious Noah. He has joined me here at the big desk top computer to greet me and keep me company. I have scheduled his fall check up with his doctor for next Wednesday, 11/1. Tomorrow I need to go to my rheumatologist's office for another blood test on my liver enzymes, so I may not be online tomorrow. Just wanted to give you a heads up so that you won't be concerned.

This morning I saw Siamese and Tux Jr right away and even the skinny tabby briefly. Tux was following me down to the 2nd spot until we encountered Bobtail along the path. I guess Tux decided to go back to the 1st spot. I saw Little Gray at the 2nd spot and White Cat at the 3rd.

Work today was same old same old. We are going to to get an earlier start tomorrow as Anne wants to buy me breakfast for my birthday.

She dropped me off here and went back to her place to freshen up. Tang met me at the door and has had his supper and shot. He is doing well.

Hi, Tracy, cloudy coolish 60-ish Caturday greetings to you and your precious prince Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you, your precious boy, and Anne doing well and in good spirits.

I can imagine some of the training you and Anne are getting is boring because you are already familiar with the processes and procedures - - so you're sitting there trying to pay attention while thinking "can we move on to something that I don't already know"? And to think you still have 3 more weeks of this to endure. The good news is you’re getting paid for this time, so that's helpful. I hope yesterday went well for you and Anne, and I'm glad you and Anne were able to celebrate your birthday having breakfast before going into work.

It's been a busy couple of days here which has significantly interrupted some of my normal activities, like being able to get online, but errands and chores are now done - - so far - - for today, and my precious Noah and I are taking a "time out" to rest. He is settled comfortably next to me as I'm writing to you.

The trip into my rheumatologist's office on Thursday, 10/26, went smoothly. I drove all the way with my brother's assistance in watching for cars in the "blind zone" so that I could change lanes safely when I needed to. My neck is not as nimble as it was this time last year, so it's difficult to turn my head to see if there is traffic coming up alongside me in the "blind zone". He also assisted me with opening the doors to the MD office and lending me his arm for added stability when I needed it. After the blood test we headed back to my home area and decided to have lunch at one of the restaurants at one of the marina's on Smith Mountain Lake. It was a pleasant lunch and we enjoyed each other's company. After lunch we headed back to my home so that he could pick up his car. He will accompany me to the rheumatologist's office late Monday afternoon, 10/30, for my 4 p.m. appointment. I will drive again. I need to get as much driving experience again to feel safe driving into the city when he isn't able to go with me. I feel like a "rookie" driver again with her first driver's license. I did an errand this morning to Advance Auto and bought a couple of "blind side" mirrors to attach to my side view mirrors that are supposed to help see traffic in the "blind side" zones on both sides of the car. I attached them when I got home, so we'll see how they work on Monday. I will get the results of yesterday's blood test on Monday when I see the rheumatologist.

Yesterday was busy catching up with all the things that didn't get done on Thursday, so that's why I wasn't online yesterday.

Friday Anne had a stomach virus that was not pretty (to say the least) But she soldiered on thru work and got a 100 on the week's final (as did I) Unfortunately, I got the bug yesterday after a particularly big meal at Ponderosa (sigh) She's better, as am I this morning, albeit still weak and woozy.

Tang is doing well though and was good company for us during this time; "trilling" on the pillow behind either her or my head

I'm glad to share your news that you and Anne are doing better recuperating from the stomach bug. GI upsets are very uncomfortable, to put it mildly, and having endured many in my lifetime so far I can truly relate to what you and Anne suffered through. And it's always helpful having the sweet purrs of your precious Tang to comfort you. Just need to take it easy, get plenty of rest, eat lightly for a couple of days to allow your GI system to recuperate. and enjoy the comforting company of your precious boy. Please let us know how you both are doing.

Tang seems to be doing well enough, even though he seems a bit bummed about it being too cold for balcony time. Before long, I guess it will be time for his supper and shot.

I hope everything is okay with Anne and that she returned home safely to you after her birthday gathering at her parents' home. I know you were disappointed about not going, but at least you and your precious Tang had some quality time together.

Have been working on renewing and updating my internet security program which hasn't gone smoothly. It's always a struggle for me to figure out the latest technology programs that are designed for the technology savvy rather than the technology challenged. The good news is that both my desk top and lap top computers are now updated and I can move on to other more pleasant things to do. My precious Noah and I had a nice snuggle this morning after his breakfast and I managed to start the day without disturbing his sweet slumbers. He joined me at the computer desk around 10 a.m. to greet me and start the day. He is settled next to me as I'm writing to you. Will need to get his lunch earlier today as I have my appointment with the rheumatologist later today.
