Dear Snowy,
It has been one year today since you left us.
It is still a shock even after so long.
I thought you were going to pull through and make it somehow.
But on October 21st 2005, you died in your sleep.
I still remember my mother telling me that you had passed away that morning.
I couldn't believe it. I remember the night before telling you how much I loved you.
You were so full of life and energy.
It still doesn't seem fair that such a beautiful soul could be taken from us.
I try now to remember the good times. But it is still so difficult.
I remember walking you in the park and walking you outside of the store when my mother would go in.
I remember taking you for the day to the Ohio Pyle and first learning that you could swim. How happy you were that day.
I remember going through the drive through at a fast food restaurant and as we gave our order, you would bark your order too into the speaker.
I remember so many Christmases and how that was your favorite holiday.
You loved to open up your gifts with your little paws.
When tragedies struck, you were there for us.
When I developed cancer I was so scared, but you were there for me.
I remember your beautiful white fur and your big dark brown eyes.
Things are not the same without you here with us.
I want to see your face and hear your bark.
I know everyone says their pet is special, and I am sure they are.
But there was something so different about you Snowy. Something that I have never seen in an animal before.
It was like you were a person and not a dog. It was like you understood everything that we were saying and like you could sense all of our emotions.
I know I have to visit your grave today. I just hope I can handle that.
I know I will someday see you again.
When it is my time to leave this Earth, I want your face to be the first face that I see. I want you to run right up to me with your tail wagging.
I will always love you my best friend. There will never be anyone else like you.
You are an Angel now.
Rest In Peace Special Friend.
Until We Meet Again,
Love Wendy

I want to thank everyone who has prayed for my Star.
She is a little sick right now again.
But we know that she will not have a normal life span.
Right now she is getting frequent urinary tract infections.
She needs fluids once a week from the vet.
She also may have a blockage in her bowels.
So we have to practically overdose her with mineral oil and hopefully this will work.
If not, she may need surgery on Saturday.
But we are doing our best for her, and praying she won't need the surgery.
We love her very much and are doing our best.
We are enjoying every moment we have with her and praying a lot.
Thank you all for being there for me and my baby.

My cat Star is doing a lot better for now.
Her blood work was good, her kidney and liver functions have improved.
We still have to keep a close watch on her.
We also have to watch so that she does not get that infection again.
She will still have a lot of problems and probably won't live as long as a normal cat would, but I am just so glad that we have her for right now.
Thank you for caring and praying!

I am just so upset right now!
I had a horrible night!
A couple of weeks ago our Vet told us our cat, Star, may be Diabetic and to feed her special food, then to bring her back in a couple of weeks to be retested.
We have been doing that.
Well, for the last two days she didn't eat and was real sluggish. We made an appointment for our regular Vet on Wednesday. But on Tuesday night she just looked so sick and when we touched her, she would yell.
So we took her to the emergency animal hospital.
He said she was dehydrated and gave her fluids in an I.V.
He took blood work and the tests came back that her glucose level had gone down to 190, which was good.
But her kidney level was at 77, and her liver level was over 500. These were horrible levels!
He said she was in kidney and liver failure and was trying to get us to put her to sleep. We said no way!
So we took her to our regular Vet Wednesday, which is today.
He said that she has a very bad urinary tract infection and that this may have caused the levels to go up. So he gave her fluids and a special kind of antibiotic shot. He wants her to come back for the next few days to get the fluids and the antibiotic shot. He is going to retest her kidney and liver levels on Saturday to see if this treatment is working.
I am just so scared.
Star has had so many problems. She was a stray. She was more than likely an abused cat because when we took her into our home we found out that all of her vertebrate in her back had been broken or cracked at some point in her life. Because some idiot did this to her she has a paralyzed tail, very little contol over her bladder, and very little contol over her bowels. I am not a wicked person, but I can't help but hope that the person who was so cruel to do this to her is suffering too right now.
She is the sweetest cat and so gentle.
We lost our dog in October and have been trying to deal with our grief over this.
We just can not lose another pet right now.
I just don't know what to do with myself. I am so nervous and all I am doing is crying.
So please, please, anyone out there who is religious or even if you are not, please pray that we get some good news on Saturday.
So many things have happened to our family in this past year, we just can't take this right now. We are good people, I just can't understand this!
I am afraid to wake up in the morning because I am afraid what will happen next!
Please pray for us.
Thank you so much.

We have a very special cat named Star. She was a stray that we took in, in July of 2000. She has had so many problems in her life. When the Vet gave her an x-ray he found that every bone in her back had once been broken or cracked. So we suspect that she had been abused. Because of this, she has a paralyzed tail, had prolapse of the rectum and needed two surgeries, and also doesn't have full control of her bladder and often gets crystals in her urine.
We recently took her for routine blood work and it came back that she may be Diabetic now. Her glucose level was 258. The Vet wants us to feed her this special food and go back in a month for more blood work to see if she will need insulin shots.
What makes this all even worse than it is, is that we lost our dog on October 21st of 2005. Our dog, Snowy, was also Diabetic and died from complications of this peacefully in her sleep on October 21st. Snowy was diagnosed with Diabetes in February of 2005. She needed insulin shots twice a day. Things got really bad at the end, she went blind and had so many problems due to the Diabetes.
Now it is like the nightmare is beginning again. We are still grieving Snowy and now we find out that Star probably has the same condition.
We are not sure exactly how old Star is. But we estimate that she is probably about 8 years old.
I read somewhere that Diabetic cats live a lot longer than Diabetic dogs. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true. Or if anyone has any tips on Diabetes in cats.
Star has been through so much in her life, please pray for her. Please.
We are not ready to let another pet go.
Thank you so much,
Wendy
