Just feeling down today. This is the 2nd anniversary of my parrot's passing. Boogie died in my arms exactly 2 years ago on 10/18. Time has not healed my grief yet, and I don't think it ever will. Boogie was in my life for 27 years and I still miss him every single minute of every single day.

Hi, Pamela, thank you so much for sharing with us your and your beloved Boogie's 2-year angel-versary. It doesn't matter how much time passes after a companion has transitioned home to the angels - - there will always be a part of us that will miss their sweet precious physical presence. The good news is that love is eternal - - it is not restricted to the physical laws of time and space, and knowing this helps to ease the deep grief in adjusting to the physical absence of our beloved companion.

I hope today is treating you kindly, Pamela, and that you will have peaceful evenings blessed with your beloved Boogie's sweet Living Spirit to comfort you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Ohh Pamela I am so sorry. sad.gif

Do you have any good support from your friends/family--especially those you live with?
Do you currently have other pets?
Are there things you wish you had said to Boogie? Possibly try writing him a letter. He already knows and feels your love, but I know that in my case there were things I wanted to say and it at least helped to actually write it. (In my case there was guilt involved and writing helped somewhat.)
Another thing that helped was framing my sweet kitty's picture inside a heart wub.gif that I made out of pretty cloth, then in a frame.
Do you have pleasant routines/things you do on a daily basis that you ever get lost in? Crafts, reading, watching movies? This seems trivial, maybe, but it can at least help with the excruciating feelings that don't give you a break.
Someone on this site had mentioned a pet-loss book that they said was really, really helpful. I made a note of it but don't have that handy. Maybe something like that would help you. Have you browsed through the resources on this site?
I'll check back soon. In the meantime, thinking of you with understanding and warmth.

Hi again Pamela, I was in the shower and remembered another thing that helped. After I wrote the letter(s) to Mariah, my sweet kitty, I wrote another letter and made it from her to me--it said things I know she would want, and wants, me to know. And good things she'd want me to do, to be good to myself. You could even carry on a "conversation" this way, with letters to and from.
