That young lady loved you well
And would have kept you by her side, Unwillingly she gave you up And I can geuss how much she cried. So Danny Boy, sweet Cindy, too, Made the pet shop home once more, Hopefully searched each new face That came through the pet shop door. Angels saw my precious birds And led us to them one bright day To bring them out and send them home Where they are loved and will ever stay. Now our precious tiels are held Within our love and peaceful hearts, Knowing they are safe and loved Even though we're miles apart. Our best friends who were visiting from Denver originally gave us Danny as a Christmas gift. Rachel and I went to the pet shop on another errand and found my birds there. They were immediately bought back by the guys and spent several days enjoying all their humans before going to Denver with their new parents. They are now safe, happy, and loved, and I can hear Danny whistling when I call. A wonderful ending to a horrible roller-coaster ride. |
