Dear LS administrator,

I received a very important post on 11/16/13 from a dear friend of Trevor's and me. I read it and was going to respond to it today (11/17/13) and it is GONE!!!!!!! What happened to it? Did you remove it for some reason? Please let me know ASAP as every post I get is precious to me and helps me in this grief journey, even years later.

Thank you for your help in this matter,
Bobbie

Hello Everyone,

Well, Ms. Bobbie's luck never seems to end. My precious Dreamer, the 3 year old English Cocker Spaniel resuce boy we adopted last summer has been diagnosed (now) with heartworm!!!! We've had him tested before and everything came up negative and we have been giving him preventative every month since then. So, why now? (that covers a lot of areas in this household)

Today he went for his first set of shots and tomorrow he goes back for whatever else he needs. I feel so badly for him because he isn't that same dog that left the house this morning. He is in a lot of pain from the shots (given deep in the muscle in the lumbar region - lower back - muscles) and having to be in a crate all day with no cushioning. He can't get comfortable, but at least is moving slowly at this point.

I know his illness isn't THAT bad, but his mommy is fighting stage 4 cancer and his daddy has a million things to do including work, taking care of mommy, her dad and two dogs.

Just asking for some thoughts and prayers for my little guy. He is so sweet.

Thanks for listening...............................again! wub.gif

My Dearest, Darling Trevor,

Well, here we are at a new crossroad in our Grief Journey and Life Journey. I was on this section, briefly, soon after we had to part, but then went back to the Death and Dying section, where I felt more comfortable at the time and met some exceptional animals and their people! I guess you could say that we are "movin' on up" to this new section to continue our love notes and messages. Make yourself comfortable, my hunky bunky!

Yesterday's ceremony was so special. I will stop by today and see how thngs look. Might even stop in and say hello to Andrew!

Trevor, my love for you continues to grow, each and every day. My gratitude to you will never cease. I still have so many questions about your life before us, but I'm not going to obsess about any of that. I think I'm going to take some time to remember and at the same time, look forward with you!

Please have a wonderful day with ALL of you buddies and friends! I'll write more tonight.

I LOVE YOU, TREVOR! wub.gif

Dear All,

Trevor and I would like to take this time to THANK each and every one of you - those we've come to know and those who check in on us - for your love and support and understanding during this most difficult first year of physical separation. It has been awful, sad, sadder still, challenging and has taught us both so very much.

We had a beautiful tiny ceremony at Trevor's grave yesterday afternoon. His daddy and Grandmom and I put flowers and lots of doggies at his grave. We then read poety composed by my sister and my good friend, LoveMyMickey and then I read the letter that I posted last night. I had them laminated and they are with the doggies at the cemetery. It was perfect.

At this time, I think it more appropriate to continue my love letters to Trevor in a different section of this same site. We will be unencumbered from any protocol-type judgements and leave more space for those in the throes (sp) of their grief. I'm not saying that I am past that point yet, but I, actually we, think it is time to move. So look for us in, I think it is called, the Memorials/Eulogies section. We'll be there!

TREVOR & I LOVE YOU!

Dear Lightning-Strikers (one and all)

Today the L.S. Administrator did something for all Cocker Spaniel lovers as well as Cockatiel lovers. And if you haven't caught it by now - I will explain.

This site is incredibly good for many reasons, but in particular, it has a type of "censor" that ensures that no vulgar, disrespectful or otherwise ugly words slip into our conversations. THAT is a joy in and of itself.

However, it made things a bit more difficult whenever I wanted to talk about Trevor. I would have to write: C. Spaniel or C-o-c-k-e-r Spaniel which was distracting some times (especially when I was in the middle of a good cry and some powerful thoughts.)

Well, Mr. LS Administrator has changed his mind about the above two words and NOW I CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT BREED TREVOR IS!

Trevor is a buff American Cocker Spaniel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!

Thank you Mr. Administrator for your kindness and thoughtfulness! It may not seem like much to others, but it does to some other of us. SO, would everyone join in and thank the L.S. Administrator for doing the difficult job that he does so well?????? Come on folks, oldies and newbiest. A little thank you for keeping this site available to all of us 24/7 is not much to ask or do! Let's hit a goal of 10,000!!!!!!!!

With deep and sincerest gratitude,
Trevor's Mommy - Bobbie ( my eyes are leaking all over the place right now - these are happy tears) wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Hi Bobbie,
I noticed that you mentioned that your baby is mostly continent. Forget the puppy pads, save money by buying chux pads like the ones they use on humans in the hospital. That's what I had to do for Kayla when she couldn't squat and would pee outside the box.
