I was just seeing if anyone had any suggestions for my kitty Baby. She's 11 years, and her best buddy Homer passed away on December 24th. She doesn't seem too depressed anymore, except the eating situation. I feed her 1/3 of a can of minced Hills rx k/d food, as well as some t/d to munch on throughout the day. Since Homer passed, she will not touch the t/d and will barely touch the k/d. She also won't really drink from the water fountain either. (Her and Homer used to 'fight' over the water fountain) so I'm putting extra water with the canned food.
I started mixing the k/d with a little Fancy Feast (1/3 can k/d to less than a teaspoon of Fancy Feast) thinking this was a temporary thing while she was adjusting to life without Homer. Well I've tried to ween out the Fancy Feast, but she won't touch the food. She's had fatty liver before too, so I can't let her go too long without eating. She used to eat Walthams canned food (forget the name) but once Royal Canin (Sensitivty CR) took over Walthams, they must have changed the ingredients, as she started losing weight. I've tried Medi-cal mature, reduced protein , preventive- She does need a diet for her kidneys, she doesn't have renal failure, but her last blood test showed elevated levels and the doctor would like to stay with a lower protein food.
If anyone has any flavor suggetions, she wont touch cat milk or tuna juice, and hates people food. She also doesn't like the meat in gravy type of food, and isn't much into the seafood flavours.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks
Leigh-ann

Im not really an expert my dogs would eat whatever i put in front of them.

I would suggest trying the cheapest brand on the shelf, most times they seem to be the healthiest options and dont have any fancy ingrediant, may be worth a try.

Our pet shops do frozen food like tripe i dont know what they have for cats but again being frozen theres nothing added.

Failing all that give a cat santuary a ring they may be able to help you.
