Hi, Missy, the anniversaries are very hard sometimes, and it doesn't matter if it's the first or the fiftieth - - some anniversaries are easier to remember at times than at other times.

For me, knowing that my precious babies are with the angels does help a great deal. I know they are safe and are happy. This does not mean I miss them less - it simply means that this helps me through the times when I am aching to hold them, to be with them.

Missy, thank you so much for sharing your precious Opie with us. What a handsome kitty he is - - and I do mean "is" because his sweet Living Spirit is forever with you, Missy, in your heart and your memories. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Missy, and I look forward to knowing how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Anniversaries are the worst. I am coming up on Cleo's 6 month and it's killing me. I miss her more now than ever. Yet, remembering the love that these creatures brought into our lives should comfort us in these tough times. We have to keep in mind that even though they are not physically here, they still love us and we will love them! They are our angels!

Dearest Missy,

I'm very sorry you're having such a difficult time missing your sweet Angel Fur Kid Opie so much. And Cleo, too. It takes time. Lots and lots of time. Please try to be kinder to yourself than you normally would and remember to take baby steps during this grief journey. Yes, they are here in Spirit. We can feel them all around us. It's just that at this point in time, many of those wonderful memories only serve as hurtful reminders that they aren't here physically for us to pet, hug and kiss them. I can truly empathize with you and it's been three years for me. I pray with all my heart it won't take you that long, Dear One.

Please come back to talk anytime day or night. It's by caring and sharing that we find that Healing Path.

Missy, I Wish You Peace.

Always, Dottie xoxoxox

It has been eight months now. I wish I could accept his passing, but I still am unable to.

I am not sure we can ever truly accept our pets passing away. We learn to cope and adjust, but "accepting" or "moving on" are not accurate ways to describe what we do. We learn to live without our friends and we cope without their physical presence. Just try to continue honoring your sweet Opie the best that you can and know that he is happy and healthy where he is.

Hi, Missy, it seems as the anniversaries get closer to the one year mark of not having our beloved companions physically with us the harder they get. Aaron has said it so well -- we are not ever supposed to "get over" or even "accept" the physical absence of our beloved companions. I agree with him that the better process is called "adjustment" - - for we can never "get over" the love we are eternally blessed to know with our beloved companions. Love is eternal - - it is not confined to the physical laws of time and space, and therefore, - - while we "adjust" to the physical absence our our beloved companions, they are still forever a part of us.

Missy, I promise you that as the anniversaries come - - and go - - as they will through your continued earthly journey - - you will NEVER EVER forget your precious Opie. I promise you that with all my heart. Not even the dimming of our minds with age can diminish the warmth of the love we have in our hearts for our beloved companions. I guarantee you that. Remember - - this is an anniversary also that your precious Opie is commemorating of being with the angels. But even though he is in heaven's perfect garden, his heart is still with you, and in you. He is always a part of you, and hopefully, as the anniversaries come - - and go - - you will be able to feel him closer to you - - forever with you - - and this will bring you a peace, and joy, to your heart.

Missy, thank you for sharing with us how you're doing, and for sharing your anniversaries with Opie with us. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and will look forward to knowing how you're doing whenever possible.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam
