Oh, my, here I am again, months after my loss of my beloved Ladywolf and Poppers, my labradog. Loss and grief are ongoing processes, aren't they--they seem to hit us repeatedly, often just as we are just beginning to get over the last one? I haven't been here in months now, because I wanted to continue to move beyond grieving and more into living after Ladywolf died, but we've been "hit" again.
Leopold is the Bengal kitty I took in after Ladywolf left me last June. He was (and is still) a wild thang, rambunctious and a bit hypomanic, but totally lovable. What made Leopold tolerable to live with was that my close friend and neighbor Mark took in Ginger at about the same time that I took in Leopold, and they fell madly in love with each other and began to spend twelve hours a day together "working out." They'd get most of their wildness out with each other, so that by the time evening rolled around, they were both very satisfied, somewhat calmed down kitties. They became like an old married couple too, as in Shirley's sad story below mine--a matched pair of wild thangs. Well, a week ago, Ginger suddenly became violently ill and just...died. She was only about one year old; it was shocking to all of us, and especially to Leopold, whose whole life changed with Ginger's death. He's deeply confused and keeps crying for her, as do I. We simply can't believe that she is gone from all of our lives now. I don't have much time or would write more, but that the gist of it. Here today and gone tomorrow, just like that. I strongly felt the need to touch in here again, to tell this sad little story, to make contact with you wonderful folks, old friends and new, and to honor Ginger's Spirit and Leopold's loss, as well as Mark's and mine. Much Love from Margi, Spiritwolf, Leopold and SpiritGinger |

I am sorry Margi. Poor Leopold...one thing is that animals seem to bounce back much quicker than us human folks. Many hugs to you and Leopold...and to Mark too.

Hi Margi,
Oh, no. This is such sad news. I remember you telling us a while back how Leopold had a "girlfriend" and had fallen madly in love. I remember smiling and thinking how cute that was. Life really can be so cruel. Such a young, well-loved kitty, taken far too soon. It's so unfair. My heart goes out to you, to your neighbor, and of course, to precious Leopold. I hope your wonderful Ladywolf was there to greet her at the bridge; along with your Poppers. Ginger kitty will be in good care with those two by her side. I will pray for Leopold and I hope he manages to overcome his heartache. Poor thing Please let us know how you, and Leo, are getting on whenever possible. We would also love to see a picture of Ginger kitty if you have one to share. Hugs from an old friend, Cheryl xx -------------------- It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone,

Thank ladies, so much, for your good thoughts. I have thought of both of you too many times during these past months.
What made this especially hard for me to take was that I was at the bottom of a pit of severe clinical depression already when Ginger unexpectedly died. I was forced to go off my antidepressant medications when my medical insurance was cancelled suddenly, and the result was one of the worst depressions I've ever experienced. And Ginger "chose" to leave while all that was going on already anyway! Brother, what a blow. I'm glad to say that I am slowly crawling back up out of that pit, but it sure hasn't been any fun!! Take good care, everyone, and lots of love from Margi and the gang |

Hi, Margi, please permit me to add my sincerest sympathies in the loss of your, Leopold's, and Mark's precious Ginger. I truly am deeply saddened by this news, for I have been blessed with the privilege of sharing your journey with Leopold and his finding a feline lady love. From my experience with Noah losing his fur family members I can so relate to the deep sadness Leopold and you, and Mark, are going through.
Loss of a beloved companion can indeed add to the burden of existing clinical depression. I hope and pray with all my heart that you are finally finding a way up and out of the dark abyss you have been trapped in. Please give your precious Leopold a hug from me, and please know you, Sir Leopold, and Mark are in my thoughts and prayers. I will look forward to knowing how you're doing whenever possible. Dear Margi
I visited the 'site' yesterday to post for my Angel Tasha's birthday and I saw this posting from you. I am so sorry for the loss of little Ginger Kitty. It's so sad that she could only share such a brief 'life' with Mark and Leo and you. Bless her, it seems she came into your lives when she was so needed, and she helped to make that sad time in your lives a little more bearable. I'm sure that Leopold the Great will soon recover, but yes he will feel her loss, and maybe if you can catch him, cuddles will be good for you all. Please let us know how you and your Leo are getting on Margi. Love Jan and my Angels and Pixie xx |
