My other post on Majik was getting soooo long, I thought I'd put these pictures in a new post. Majik is 6 months old now, and really too cute.
I know this took a while. Sorry Alley's Mama. I talked in my other post about how he 'found' a fuzzy pen and decided to make it his. When he carries it by the top you almost can't see his face. He has to hop everywhere with it. It's too funny. Here is a picture of him playing with it. (Yes all the toys are his): He is an 'up' kitty, the higher the better. Here he is on top of the kitchen cabinets: And in the washing machine, The 'little round bed', LOL: Here is Majik and Autumn together, about as close as she will let him come: Love -------------------- Lori
For some of my Bridge kids. Butch 1974-1996 Alex 1981-1996 Moose 1996-2006 Mommy loves and misses you guys. She remember's all of you, even though it's too many to name each one. I can't wait to see you again. |

I can't believe how BIG he is getting! And he truly does look so much like Alley in the face and his fur. He's just precious and you are so lucky to have him. Please give him lots of kisses for me! -------------------- |

He is getting big, so long. You can see the difference in the pictures here. A couple of months makes such a difference. He is so, so soft too. His fur is getting longer every day, I love it. I'll give him lots of kisses from you, I love giving kisses! Cleo 1 Oh your Cleo is just beautiful! 15, wow you are so lucky to have her for so long. She is lucky to have you too. All your babies are so gorgeous. I love your signature graphic. Love -------------------- Lori

What a beautiful Wee Beastie! I love black cats I grew up with one there so cool! We got our new Wee Beastie only two weeks after Leo died. It helps so much to have a kitten around.
The washing machine pic is just to cute!. They get into the darnedest places. Sincerly, Alan |

My goodness! Majik sure IS growing up fast! And Heavens....he DOES look so much like Alley, doesn't he?!?! Yes, that washing machine pic is so cute...although I know I'd be bangin' on the sides of it to scare him out forevermore, I'd be so paranoid that something terrible might happen around those machines (remembering someone here who mistakenly washed or dried her cat cuz she failed to check inside before doing a load!! I've already blocked out the details, I was so horrified). Sorry to spoil the mood, but I just HAD to put that warning out there cuz I'd hate to see anything like that happen to precious Majik, too!
Back to nicer stuff -> I'll bet that w/i a year, Autumn will have warmed up to Majik and we'll see pics of them snuggled up close to each other! Hey, maybe that's why Autumn took off for awhile the other day. Maybe she's been a little jealous of the newer family member and needed to know that she was still just, or even more, important to her mom and dad than the new 'interloper'? I LOVE that fuzzy pen, and is it EVER big and fuzzy! No WONDER he can't keep his paws off of it! You still have to try and get a frontal pic of him when he's got it in his mouth....if you can quit laughing long enough to hold the camera! Great pics - worth the wait! -------------------- "I dropped a tear in the ocean. The day you find it is the day I will stop missing you." Simba's Daddy
QUOTE Cats seem to find the oddest places to lay around and be lazy. Yes they do, LOL. Leo's Daddy I'm so happy your new guy is working out. They do get into the darnest places. Thanks for saying he is beautiful. We sure think so. Nissa's Mommy Ya know I thought about putting something up about how careful we are with him. We know he likes the washer, and the dryer gives me nightmares. So we check a lot. If I can't find him, he's in the washer. I've been leaving the lid up because if he gets on top of the washer, he jumps down behind. He can't get out of there and needs help, and I can't be sure I'll be right there. Plus he comes out covered with lint! Lid up he justs gets in the washer and he can get himself out. I am praying they get to like each other, that would be great. She was never 'best friends' with Moose, they did okay but no sleeping together or anything. Majik is just appaled that she is a cat and doesn't like him. He keeps trying to cuddle her and getting slapped off, and hissed at. I think it's getting better.... If he can stop hopping with the pen in his mouth, I'll try to stop laughing and get a pic! It's too funny. Love -------------------- Lori

Well, I'm glad you esplained all that, Lucy! Now I'm thinking....a linty Majik would ALSO make a great photo! Hey, you could DUST with that pleeeuuuuum of a tail! As for the fuzzy ball-hopping, forget the camera ....it's time for the camcorder!!
If I were Majik, I'd be appalled, too! Hey, we're both CATS, fer cryin' out loud! Whattsa matta-ayou, Autumn???? Aren't I beeooteeful enough already?! Sheesh! There's just no accounting for some kidlets' tastes, huh? Maybe some lovely catnip sprinkled on Majik....? -------------------- "I dropped a tear in the ocean. Nissa's Mom
That tail is like velcro, everything sticks to it. You never know what you are going to find in it. Even his poopy sitcks to it so I find bits of poo all over the house. LOL Lint, dust, sawdust (sigh) I am forever grooming that tail. It's beautiful but messy. Leo's Mommy Yeah he dusts the top of the cabinets for sure, LOL. Love -------------------- Lori

Oh, LOL!! Yes, this IS one of the reasons I've always preferred shorthairs to longhairs! It's WAY easier to help keep them clean and tidy...not that my guys usually needed any help anyway, they were both pretty meticulous in their grooming, especially Nissa. But I brushed and combed them weekly regardless. And if they happened to get something stuck in or on their fur, it was easier to either soap and rinse out, or clip off. Though you should have heard the YOWLING if we had to wash off mud or something from Nissa's feet! YIKES! You'd have thought we were asking her to let us remove her EARS or something! SHE could play with water, but that privilege was reserved for ONLY her discretion!

Oh I just love long hair cats. Of course they are more work. I brush mine every day. I have had one of each for a while, Butch had long hair and Alex had short. Moose had long and Autumn short, now Majik has long fur. The short hair babies get a good brushing once a week.
I make brush time part of love time. Sitting and loving and brushing, the guys with long hair actually get to looking forward to it. They do have to have some fur cut off once in a while, it's eaiser to cut than brush out some things. Love -------------------- Lori

Alley didn't like to be brushed much, except for her head and neck, and sometimes her belly. Anything near her backside was off limits! lol
Even though she had really long fur, she never got tangles or mats. I know most long hair cats do and I'm not sure what it was about her fur (some kind of breed throwback?) but it was always soft and smooth. Her sister Stinky was the same way. p.s. I'm around, have been reading all the threads, just have a lot of stuff going on right now, apt hunting, car in shop, nervous breakdown, you know, the usual! So if I don't post, don't think I have forgotten anyone. I read each thread. I just don't seem to have the energy to post much right now. -------------------- |

QUOTE I make brush time part of love time. Sitting and loving and brushing, the guys with long hair actually get to looking forward to it The kitty I have now, although bursting with hysterical personality, isn't very lovey-dovey at all...I actually get quite jealous hearing all the stories of how wonderfully affectionate everyone elses kitties are . Anyway, My guy loves to be brushed...if he sees that brush he's right up your butt ! He is the most well groomed kittty around because that is how I feed my need for his attention...as long as I'm brushing, he's makin' mufins and purring away ...too bad I have to work so hard for his love....little ingrate ! Here is a picture I tried to take just th eother day....I guess he didn't want to be disturbed !

Oh my, Kim, he's gorgeous!....or at least what we can see of him! What beautiful colourings! Sorry we're all feeding your jealousy here.....saaaaayyyyy.....maybe some F.E. treatments would help him be more lovey!.... Well, if nothing else, at least his fur looks wonderful and you're helping to keep him spotless! If I ever travel down there....I'll have to be sure and bring a brush the size of DETROIT!

Heck, this would be a great test!! If I could tell a difference with that, I would know they work !QUOTE If I ever travel down there....I'll have to be sure and bring a brush the size of DETROIT! LOLOL!!! You got that right!! That made me think of a funny story! My neighbor came over one day and was sitting on our couch...out of nowhere, my kitty came running...jumped up on the back of the couch (still running) and as he ran behind her, he kicked out like a jack rabbit and kicked her in the head...then just kept running ...I told you, full of hysterical personality!! I wish I knew what he was thinking sometimes !

I'm sorry to hear you are having a bad time right now. I hope things get better for you soon. When you can have a kitty, it will be better. Until then, do what you can and leave what you can't. Kim Oh what a handsome boy, I love it when they put the paw over the eyes. Just too cute. He sounds like a funny guy. That 'rabbit kick in the head' too funny. What is his name? With some cats you have to take love on their terms. If brushing gets you love, brush a LOT. Works for me. While my Autumn can be very loving and sweet, it has to be in her time and on her terms. Thank you so much...HE thinks so ,too !! His name...well....his given name is Iaasic, but he has never been called that a day in his life ! We call him...ready for this...."B". Yep, his name is "B" ! He was a rescue that I bottle fed from only 9 days old, and I called him 'Mommy's wittle bitty kitty ". As he got older I called him my "wittle bitty boy". That turned somehow into "bitty b". Now just "B". I'm sure we all know the routine of how they can be labeled with the strangest names ! That is why I never type his name in reference to him here...I knew people would thinking 'what the heck kinda name is B !We also call him bitty beepers, and kiiiiiiiiiiiitty ! But I always say "B" when he is in trouble....which is most of the time , so that is his 'main name'. I bet you never knew "what is his name" could turn into a novel !! -------------------- |

QUOTE I bet you never knew "what is his name" could turn into a novel It must have been great to raise a kitten so small. Oh I love the name B. Much loved babies always seem to have a raft of nicknames. LOL I just love to hear what they are and why they have them. We call Majik a lot of things. Teeny Tiny (not so much now Punken or just Punk, Punken Pie or Punken Butt.... Roughy Toughy Butternose At first we thought we would name him AK, for Autumn's Kitten, but it sounded so army or something, lol. Love -------------------- Lori
