The article by Ginger-Lyn Summer entitled "Dealing with the Guilt" is very good. If you're needing help with this, as so many of us do and I so desperately was (and still do sometimes -- it comes and goes), this should make you feel better. Please go to to following site to read the two-page article:

(I hope the link works, and I'll check it out.

Ginger was part Norwegian Forest Cat. When I first took him in he was a meanie, so his full name was "Gingersnap", and I did not change his name after I learned she was a he.

WOW. Outstanding. I was going to quote parts of the article in this post, but there would have been so many things to quote that I might as well have copied the whole article!

I hadn't expected tears to come to my eyes as I read it.... I didn't feel guilt over how I handled Little Girl's passing (though I miss her intensely), but I still feel twinges of guilt over how I handled Mariah's (I will share that story here eventually). I have made a lot of progress, but this article helped me a lot!!!

I recommend this to everyone!!!

THANK YOU, MARCIA, FOR SHARING THIS ARTICLE!!! wub.gif

I thank you also for this article. I intend to send it to a couple of people who don't understand the loss of - in my particular case - a cat.

With grief comes guilt, whether your beloved animal was a dog, cat, bird, ferret, or any other living thing.

Blessings towards your healing,
