It has been a week since my dog Bruno has been gone and everyday I still cry. I will be attending a pet loss support group and I hope that will make me feel better. Everything is so different now. I finally had my first dream of him the other day and he was running towards me so happy and then my alarm woke me up I was so upset. Each day gets ok but the sadness has not gone away and who knows if it ever will.

I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost my baby one week ago. I am not sure how to "be" without her. I'm glad you found a support group and hope it brings you comfort. My belief is that as time passes, the hurt will begin to fade. Sending virtual hugs your way.

Sadie was about 13. We adopted her from the shelter 12 years ago come Monday, and we believed her to be about a year old at that time. You can never have enough time with them. She was completely embedded into the fabric of our lives. We didn't have children, and Sadie was definitely our fur baby. We adopted her 3 months after we lost Wembley who was at least 18 when he passed. Sadie helped to heal our hearts and we will miss her everyday, just as we do our Wembley. One day at a time.

I just read Bruno's story, he was just a baby! I'm so sorry for what you've going through. I know how hard it is when they are sick and you can't fix them. You do the best you can, and that's all you can do.

I hope you're having a better day today. Take care.

Hi, Shaknown, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and your and your beloved Bruno's one week angel-versary. It does seem during the deep grief that every moment of every hour of every day is a painful reminder that our beloved companion is no longer physically with us, and it is painful both emotionally and physically. Unfortunately there are no fast forward or delete buttons we can press to speed up the journey or make the sadness automatically disappear. The good news is that eventually the sorrow does ease, and you will once again be able to think of your beloved Bruno with a happy heart. But until this time comes for you please know we are here for you for as long and as often as you need us.

I hope today is treating you kindly, Shaknown, and that you will have a peaceful evening blessed with your beloved Bruno's sweet Living Spirit to comfort you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Hello Joy M.

You have had Sadie for a long time. I think having your pet for that many years would be extremely hard to let go of. Bruno was really young. He would of been six in December. It has been very hard. I am having better days but there are still times that I break down. We were so close to each other. We were cleaning out my laundry room the other day and I came across the pillow I laid his head on just before he died to make him as comfortable as possible and I could not stop crying. My family is doing better about it but I cant seem to let it go. I really am sorry for your loss. This site really does help me but at the same time I feel so sad for the loss of your pet and others. I know the hurt that you and everyone goes through. I really appreciate the comfort of your replys. It does help me alot.
