It's Been Two Weeks

Well, it has been two weeks since scooter was laid down in my arms. It was just about the toughest thing I have had to do to date. My parents got a little girl kitty, margie, 5 months old. I love playing with her when I go over to see them, but I still miss him so bad. I have a picture of Scooter just above my fireplace, look at it all the time. I wanted to say if I had not found this website things would have been even worse. You are all great people with such touching stires. I will continue to read all of your posts with an occasional word of comfort if I can. But to all of you whom have helped me, thank you. It is you who have made me realize that I WILL see my little buddy again some day.

My Cat Scooter

Hello everyone. let me say I have read many of your stories and they are all touching. I am a very sad man right now. My cat of 18+ years scooter is failing so very bad. His mobility is nearly gone. He is not able to make it from his bed to the litter box and back which is right next to him. I know what I have to do, I just want to know that it s the right thing. When I go over to my parents house to see him I hold him and pet him, he is purring anfd happy, not in pain it seems, so I have mixed emotions about going through with this. I have been in tears this whole week. My wife doesn't understand. I was raised an only child and I really feel as if I am losing a brother here. What should I do?
