Tigger was put to sleep on December 31, 2002, and we got his ashes back in March of 2003. Since then he has been sitting in a drawer in my parents room because they just don't know what to do with my precious baby's ashes. I've decided that it's been over a year and a half and it's time that he was buried in a pet cemetery. What I didn't realize is how hard this was going to be. I'm searching online for pet cemeteries close to my house (I live in Schaumburg, outside Chicago) and I've found a couple but I still need to go and visit them and call the person in charge and make sure it's right for my baby boy. He only deserves the best and I want him to be with other animals so he'll be able to play and have fun. I also want to have a place to go so that even if we move, he'll always be there. I need somewhere to grieve other than my house because there are too many memories there. Anyways, I guess that the reason I'm writing on here is twofold. First of all, does anyone know of a pet cemetery near Chicago that is generally nice and well-kept that would accept another pet? Also, can you offer any words of advice to me? I don't want his ashes spread because I don't believe he would like that, and I feel firmly about having a proper burial in a pet cemetery with a headstone and everything. Cost is not an issue, I'll use whatever is in my savings to pay for it on my own. I've never gotten over losing my best little friend (but do we really ever) but I feel it's time to give him a permanent home. What do you think? Please let me know...thanks sad.gif

I created this little memorial page for my cat Tigger last summer, but I just updated it with pictures, and I would love it if you would all go there and just take a minute to look at it. Tigger was put to sleep on December 31, 2002, at age 15, and since I was only 18 at the time, he had been around for my entire life and it was hard to say goodbye. He was my best friend in the whole world and I loved him more than words can ever say (look at my little picture, how could you not adore that face?). Anyways, I would love it if you would just go look at his memorial because it would mean the world to me to think that he was being remembered (and he was a little attention hog, so I'm sure he would be happy too). Feel free to leave any comments also! Thanks so much!

Last year in June, my stepdad found a kitten in his warehouse underneath a crate so we brought her home and kept her. Her name is Pepper, and she is about a year old right now and she is a little bundle of energy. Now about 6 months before we found Pepper, we had my cat Tigger put to sleep. Tigger was my best friend and to be honest, I'm still not fully recovered. He was always considered to be "my cat" because he followed me everywhere and slept with me every night. Now, the reason I'm posting on here is because my mom has a theory about Pepper. You see, Pepper is sweet but she can be a little skittish. She tends to attack your hands and feet, and she doesn't like to be picked up. She kind of hides from everyone...except for me. I'm the only one she'll come anywhere near. When I get home from work, she's waiting on the stairs and when I'm laying on my bed, she crawls on to my chest and sleeps there. She has to be around me whenever I'm at home. This in itself would not be strange but she has many of the same mannerisms as Tigger. When she crawls on my lap, she'll immediately put her butt in my face (which is always appreciated tongue.gif ), and she loves to sit on the windowsill right behind my bed. She eats her catnip exactly like he did, and she lets me hold her exactly like I held him. My mom's theory is that Pepper is the reincarnation of Tigger. Tigger knew that we still needed him around, so he sent Pepper to us to kind o ffill his void. I don't know if I believe this because we'll have to see how she acts as she gets older, but what do you guys think? Do you think this is a possibility? Let me know!

Andrea

P.S. Go to my Tigger Memorial please! It would mean alot to me:
