Well, I thought, New Year, a new happy start--But it's not to be--😒😒 Daisy, our Rat Terrier, has not been her usual self for a couple weeks--Went to the vets today.
She has a large mass, in her belly and it's cancer.😑 I was afraid of that.
Can't do anything for her --she has either a few days or a week--could be a little longer--but it's affected her eating and her GI tract. I am hoping she'll just go in her sleep--I hate to have to put her down.😒😒πŸ₯Ί We have had her since 2010.

I cannot fathom what happened this morning.

This is Stubby---whom I just found--gone!!!πŸ˜ͺ😒😰
He was fine at 3am when I gave him some treats--but let me go back to last week. He wasn't acting right--not eating or drinking. I tried o set up an appointment for him and had problems with that. Then he started to get better--eating and drinking---decided I would call the vet again for a check up. He 'd been acting his old self again---so I thought I had time to call the vet.

He came here, with us, from Florida. Rescued him around 2006. I think he was about 2 or 3 years old, at the time.
I went into the kitchen, about 6am and saw him lying on the rug, under the kitchen table. I called him, he didn't move. I touched him and realized what had happened. But, I can't say why--

Last November, we lost Adam. He was 17 1\2. I felt bad too, but he was getting frail--he was blind and did a lot of walking. I took him to the vets, just to get an idea of what was going on. it was mainly age related problems. I knew he'd be gone one day--so it came as no surprise and I was able to tolerate that better than I am handling this.Attached Image

Stubby is already being missed. My husband was close to him
He's here and I am taking him for cremation to come back with us.

I normally don't do this--but this story is really quite sad---I read about this
dog and it is outrageous what his status is and especially the reason behind it mad.gif ---It's people like us that may be able to help Dutch!!!!

I have got 2 accounts to tell you about----they are both sad, but my second one has a funny twist and gave me some relief---

First---a week ago this coming Sunday, will be one week that our dear Bruno, who turned either 18 or 19 this year, went to join his crew at Rainbow Bridge. The previous Tues he wasn't acting right and on Wed took him to the vet. Found out that his hematacrit was very low and he was anemic. It was either he was bleeding from somewhere unknown or his bone marrow was on the fritz. No matter what we found out, there was nothing that could be done for him, especially at his age. So I brought him home to be in familiar surroundings, when his time came. Late Sat night or very early Sun morning---I went to wet his mouth---he licked his lips, meowed looked at me and started having respiratory distress. Luckily, it was short lived and he didn't suffer for which I am very grateful---he was such a great cat—so painful to see him leave me----but he'll be back home again.

My strange story is this. Last year, when I was away from home and in Pennsylvania from November to January due to my accident----I luckily had someone to care for the cats. One day, last December, while I was talking to them, they told me they could not find Patches. She was a Calico and was born before Bruno. They said they looked all over the house and could not find her. And they could not smell anything that would indicate she had died. Before I left to go to Pa. I noticed she was hanging around the front door, which was unusual for her. So we thought, somehow she had gotten out of the house. I always felt bad, when I thought about her, because I could only imagine horrible things had happened to her.

Today----she was found and I cannot believe this. She was gone, but what she did, was crawl behind this piece of furniture, in the bedroom, where my TV set was on, and that is where I found her, quite by accident. But get this, poor little thing was mummified, but not decomposed----there was no odor---I found her by accident!!!! So now, even though I am sad that she died alone, I am more peaceful because I know what happened to her. She will go to the vets for cremation and come back here.

When I find pictures of them, I will post them

Just a little note now---for that is all I feel like. Lost our beloved Miss Kitty today after her horrendous nite of seizure activity.
She had to be put to sleep as there was no stopping since 8pm last nite---Possible brain tumor as there was never any seizure activity with her----I will spare the details as it was awful. She is now, out of her pain and misery and prancing around at Rainbow Bridge with her family that went before her.

My heart is broken and I miss her!!!! Thank goodness for this site as every little bit helps.
