Hi, Julia, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing. Like DannysMom, I, too, hope the detective will be able to bring a positive reunion for your precious Miles and you. When will he be arriving and what methods will he use? Please let us know how things go, Julia.

I hope today is treating you and your husband kindly, Julia. Please know you and your precious Miles are in my thoughts and prayers, and once again, please let us know how things are going.

Hello Julia, I am glad you're feeling a bit better and that you have renewed up. And I hope that the pet detective will be able to find your Miles. Had your Miles ever gotten lost before? I am glad too that you found out the pet communicator is a charlatan, and I am so sorry that he got you so upset. Sometimes cats hide in the weirdest spots, but I just think that Miles is in someone's household. He may have followed someone home or walked into someone's house and they assumed him to be a stray. Do any of your neighbors have pets missing? The pet detective gave you some good advice about hanging up more posters, and I'm glad that keeping yourself busy with the search is keeping your spirits up. Hopefully your Miles will be back home very soon. smile.gif

Yes, Miles was missing before. It was only for 1 day, my next door neighbor found him in his garage. By the way today he asked me if we have found him yet, he loves Miles too. It's hard not to love him for the funny stuff he does. I appreciate your words about Miles being in someone's house. It is possible situation, because someone might liked him and thought to adopt him since I did a mistake and never put a collar and a tag on him.
As far as I know none of my other neighbor's cats are missing. I only saw a few posters closer to the road about lost dog. So sad when people lose their pets, I just can relate to everyone's pain about lost pet. In the meantime, I keep my eyes open if I ever come across other people's lost pets.

He won't be coming, because it's just too pricey. But he custom made the map for my area and his plan for how to search for Miles and possible locations he could go. He gave me the ideas where to hang posters. That's basically it.
I feel like I have done what I could so far. Now we are just waiting. I all the time dream how happy I will be when Miles get back or when I hear someone calling about him, and how Miles' brother will be happy to reunite with his best friend. I keep dreaming about holding my baby boy again.

Hi, Julia, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and the assistance the detective has given you. There is a saying, "Faith is the thing hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." There is no such thing as "false hope" - - for when there is no hope this can devastate and wither the essence of life. Whatever happens, Julia, you will ALWAYS have the reason to hope that your precious Miles is happy, and that one day at the appropriate time you WILL BE reunited again.

Once again, Julia, I hope today is treating you and your husband kindly. Please know you and your precious Miles are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how things are going.

Peace and blessings,

One moment I feel ok, the next moment I feel sad and still can't believe Miles is not home! I just can't accept it!

In your experience, reading about other lost cats, how long does it take for a cat to be back on average? I mean is it rarely for a cat to be back in a month or a few ones? I wish I had some kind of statistics. But I know it won't give me anything. I just feel like the hope is fading with every new day. I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to keep hoping.

I hanged bunch of my dirty clothes outside for Miles to be able to smell what way his home at. I've read that they can smell from very far away. I just miss him so much. I need him back.

Julia, that's a good idea about hanging the dirty clothes outside. I saw this article about a phone app for lost pets, you may want to check into that. the link is: http://shine.yahoo.com/pets/app-uses-facia...-130700864.html

You mentioned that you saw a poster about a lost dog. That is interesting. Did the poster mention how long the dog has been missing? You could try to get in touch with the dog's owner and try to find out the circumstances of their missing dog. It may help you in some way. Keep looking for him. It gives you something to do and will keep your spirits up. I hope Miles comes back home real soon.

Hi, Juila, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and how things are progressing in your search for your precious Miles. Sadly there is no adequate or definite answer to your question: "how long does it take for a cat to be back on average?" Some companions take several months to come back home, some companions take several years - - while some companions, sadly, never do. With my own personal experiences as a young child, one kitty was missing for several weeks. He had gotten stuck in a sewer drain just down the block from where the house was. One morning on the way to the bus stop to go to work my eldest sister heard a constant "meow" from the sewer and she came back home to tell us about it. My dad lifted the drain cover and rescued our little kitty. A few years later another one of our kittys went missing for several months. He finally reappeared on our door step the evening of my birthday. And then a few years later another kitty went missing - - he never came back home.

Please let me try to reassure you that what you are feeling is very normal when you share with us: "I just feel like the hope is fading with every new day. I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to keep hoping." Julia, you never need to stop hoping to have your precious Miles come home again. It is perfectly normal, however, for the hope to not be as intense as the length of time increases that he does not come home. This doesn't mean you have "given up" on him - - nor does it mean that the love bond you and your precious Miles share no longer exists. It simply means that - - for whatever reason - - you and your precious Miles' earthly journey have taken separate paths. The love bond you and your precious Miles share is eternal, Julia - - and nothing in heaven or on earth can ever change this. Even though your precious Miles is not physically with you, he will ALWAYS know your love is with him whatever his circumstances are.

I hope today is treating you and your husband kindly, Julia. Please know your precious Miles and you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how things are going.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Thank you for the support and more advices.

I've got a question. So I hang pieces of my dirty clothes on the porch every day. How long does the smell will stay on my clothes for the cat to be able to sense it? How fats does it evaporates?

Thank you!

Hi, Julia, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing. It is best to hang a new batch of dirty clothes every day as the weather will affect how long your scent will stay effective. You do not want to hang clothes out if it is raining outside or snowing, sleeting, etc., as these types of weather will quickly deteriorate the scent on your clothes.

Once again, Julia, I hope today is treating you and your husband kindly. Please know your precious Miles and you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how things are going.

Peace and blessings,

Ok i have an update! Saturday a lady said she saw my cat while she was walking her dog and she says positive it was him! Me and my husband went to that spot where Miles got seen (it's about 10 min walk from our house). A guy who lives in that house said us to walk away because it was not our cat, we said okay and was keep looking for my cat and shaking the bag of food. So he followed us and said like 3 times : " I hate to bring your hopes down but it was not your cat!!!". WTH!! He also aid he has 4 cats himself and he talks like psycho. I afaid he has my cat! So we left because because my husband was getting annoyed and i dont want any troubles.
What am i doing now? Is he just a retard or I have the right to suspect that guy in kidnapping?
I talked to that lady again and she said it was my cat she saw posters all over our neighborhood. She saw him in the bushes and she called for him tried to catch but my cat run and hide under a car.
If my cat is there he has access outside and he can make his way home right??
I hanged blanket outside so he can sense our location and we are not that far.
I dont know what to do, im scared to keep looking around that guy house because what if psycho and hurt someone. I just hope my cat will be smart enough to run away. Or what if he takes care of my cat and so my cat decided to stay there? I mean I have so man questions. Or what if the guy has nothing to do with it. He has 4 cats and puts food outside for them so my cat robably eats it too. I dont know. But it gave me hope that my cat is fine!!! I just have to find him or he has to find his way home!

Julia, I would get the police involved in this. It sounds like this "psycho" guy probably has your cat. You could get that lady who said it was Miles as a witness. I would go back to where the lady said she saw him and take some food with you and try to get Miles back. Don't assume he can make his way home as you don't know what happened. That "psycho" guy may have taken Miles with him when he came across him.

Hi, Julia, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing. I am so very glad you have a positive ID that your precious Miles is still close by in your neighborhood.

I can certainly understand your and your husband's apprehension about the apparently aggitated resident. You can speak with the police and / or the local animal rescue. Explain the situation and ask for their advice as to how you can legally do a search on this person's property for your Miles. If you do not know the name of the lady who has made a positive ID, at least get her address so that the police / animal rescue can verify it with her. If this resident is feeding his companions outside it is very likely that Miles is taking advantage of this as well. Keep searching for and keep calling your precious Miles - - it is very promising that you will be reunited with him.

I hope today is treating you and your husband kindly, Julia. Please know your precious Miles and you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how things are going.

Peace and blessings,

I have been trying. I put wet food behind that guy house and was waiting if Miles shows up. I went to look for him in the evening, was calling his name. That guy probably heard me and turned the light off in his house to probably look at me. I left some dry food and Miles' toy under the tree behind that guy's house...
I feel like I've done everything I could. I talked to 3 animal communicators so far! One was the one who said Miles is trapped in a shed, the other lady said she sees my cat in the wood, one more lady said my cat is fine and will be back within a week (it has been longer). So I just let it go. If he comes back, it's great.
We will be moving in a couple of months. I hope he will show up before then. If not, I'll let the neighbors know to keep an eye in case they see him and to call me. But I just have to keep going.
It has been 3 weeks since the day Miles left. I've read stories how some cats would show up after months of being missing, so I still have the hope.
Thanks for the support!

Julia, thanks for letting us know what's going on. Has the lady you talked to before seen Miles again? You may just want to sit behind the guy's house, away from his property, and just quietly call Miles and wait for him to show. Cats that have run away are just so spooked and it can take a while for him to come out of hiding. Please don't give up on him. If there's any chance that this cat is your Miles you need to keep pursuing this lead before you move. He's not going to find you after you've moved, and who knows if a neighbor can catch him. I wouldn't rely on what the animal communicators said. Your best lead is the weird guy's house. Do you know who he is? You may want to do some checking up on him or talk to some of his neighbors and see what you can find out.
