First, I found this lovely article by Dr. Diane Pomerance, on animal companion loss:
Grieving the Loss of a Loved Animal Companion. That led me to another website featuring Dr. Pomerance's (and others') works, where I noticed this video (produced in conjunction with Steven Drown, director/owner of both a funeral home for people and pet cemetery) as well as a listing of her many books, articles, her blog, and more. "I'll See You In Heaven My Friend" video, and Dr. Pomerance's webpage. Wish they had a trailer.... These resources all sound very helpful, as this woman seems to actually understand to a higher degree just how all-encompassing our relationships with and to animals really are. I know I'd LOVE to receive this video from someone as a compassionate gift! (wish I'd seen this before this last Christmas, cuz it would have gone on my list!!) -------------------- "I dropped a tear in the ocean. The day you find it is the day I will stop missing you."
