Hello all, I've been doing better lately. Of course I still miss Elizabeth, but I have my other babies and work and so I haven't been able to dwell on things too much.
But today is already especially hard. Every year for Christmas, all my babies take pictures with Santa. Ramona got her picture done last week and most of the others will get their pictures in done in the coming weeks. But today it is Maggie's turn to take her picture and what makes everything so hard is that Maggie and Elizabeth took their picture together every year. It will be so bittersweet to see Maggie without Elizabeth this year. They were such a team and now The Bit is gone. And I guess this is also making me face the fact that Maggie is getting on in years too and who knows if this is her last Christmas. I cherish every moment I have with them. I love them so. I know Elizabeth is our Christmas angel this year, but I still want her here. |

Hi, Deidre, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing. Please let me try to reassure you that what you are feeling is very normal grief as the holidays approach and engulf us. What is advertised as being the "most wonderful time of the year" can in reality be the "most horrible time of the year" when our hearts are saddened with the sorrow of not having our beloved companions physically with us.
Accompanying this is the heightened "reality" that one, or perhaps more, of our precious companions is also approaching a point in time when their earthly journey is no longer as youthful as previous years enjoyed and the time shared with them is becoming more precious. I know from first hand experience how your heart is feeling about your precious Maggie. If I may offer you a suggestion: if you have a picture of your precious Maggie and beloved Elizabeth together, perhaps you could take it to a "speciality" shop to have an ornament made to hang on your tree. Or perhaps you can think of another way to honor your beloved Elizabeth and precious Maggie this Christmas, and for many holidays to come. It's just a thought. I hope today is treating you, your precious companions, and all your family kindly, Deidre, and that you will have a peaceful evening blessed with your beloved Elizabeth's sweet Living Spirit to comfort you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you're doing. Peace and blessings, moon_beam -------------------- In heaven's perfect garden there is no grief or pain, and all of God's creation join the angels' sweet refrain.
The most blessed way I have of knowing God's comforting love and grace is to look into the eyes and heart of God's creatures' sweet angelic face. |

I had been doing better, but now my little cat Mary is sick. She's 15 and I know her time is short too, but I didn't expect this so soon after Bitsy. We have a vet appointment tomorrow.

Hi, Deidre, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and how your precious Mary is doing as well. I am so very sorry she is not feeling well and hope the vet will be able to diagnose what is bothering your precious girl - - and equally important, offer her some treatment that can restore her to a good quality of life. From first hand experience I do understand how worried you are for your precious Mary. Please know your precious girl, and you, are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how things go tomorrow.
