Please send prayers for Izzy and Mack. Its been a while since ive been to this site, but you were all so comforting when I lost my baby boy gunner 2 october's ago. He too had escaped the backyard and ended up getting killed by a car.
I'm praying his brother mack and our other dog izzy dont reach the same fate. One of them managed to knock the wooden gate hinges loose ont he bottom and push it open about a foot and i discovered it just minutes after waking up this morning. its now almost 10 pm with no sign of them anywhere. Ive posted signs all around the neighborhood and talked to a few neighbors and visited the shelter twice today and they are watching for them too. I dont know what else to do other than pray that God will send them back home to me safe and sound. we just moved to san antonio last week adn they are totally unfamiliar with the area so they dont have a favorite place for me to go look for them. who knows which direction they headed but what worries me most is that we are right at the crossing of an interstate and major highway right behind our house which is where they got out. im praying a neighbor has found them and has them safe and just waiting to see where they belong. Please help keep me sane...theres only so much i can do being 6 months pregnant and on partial bed rest due to pregnancy complications. I need this to be a happy ending. i still havent gotten over the loss of my gunner and its been a year and a half. i lost another dog in march this year right after finding out i was pregnant and i really dont want to lose 2 more this time. im just sick over this.
please please pray.
thanks
michelle

I am so glad the got the dumpster diving out of their system!!!!

Their sense of smell is so good they could have smeeled something "interesting" from blocks away, and could not resist.

Unfortunately for us, some of the things they are interested in can be pretty horrible. Pepper came back from some sort of adventure smeeling like that once.

Jon, their sense of smell is a mixed blessing. I know its what probably made them go on their adventure in the first place but its also what helped them find their way back to our house late last night. Lordy lordy what those dogs put me thru! blink.gif
My 3 year old went out to play with his doggies this morning cause he was so happy they are home and I had to double lather him in the bath cause he smelled like he joined them in the dumpster. I just hope they dont try that again...EVER

What a wonderful ending. I was going to ask if they had collars and tags on with your ID or microchipped.

Other than that..it just reminded me of when I had two dogs, a puppy shepherd and a 2 year old boxer/shepherd mix. They were in a backyard where I lived in a rear house. My landlady's dog opened the gate and my 2 walked out and hers stayed in the yard. Well, I was driving around in the cold night with my windows down calling their name. A couple of hours later, I spotted them on my street corner, together, and got them home. I absolutely KNOW how frantic this all can be and am so glad your two are where they belong...HOME.

Hugs to all of you. A great ending.

I am so happy to hear Izzy & Mack (the dumpster divers) have returned safely to your loving arms. Yes, I know the relief you are feeling in knowing they are both safe once again firsthand.

It was not long ago my Browser took his first (and hopefully his last) unescorted adventure. My prayers were answered when I heard him whimpering from quite a distance at 3:31 a.m. Yes, my faith saw me through and we also had a happy ending and gave thanks.

Hugs to you and your 2 dumpster divers you call Izzy & Mack! wub.gif
